Singer-Songwriter Daisy Mallory Releases Debut Single, “Do You Think of Me?” to Country Radio

Singer-Songwriter Daisy Mallory Releases Debut Single, “Do You Think of Me?” to Country Radio

Inks record deal with indie label, FrontWater Records

(Nashville, Tenn. – July 26, 2010)  Singer/songwriter Daisy Mallory has released her debut single, “Do You Think of Me?” to Country radio last week.

Mallory wrote or co-wrote all of the songs on her current EP, Girl Time, including the “Do You Think of Me?” single, produced by veteran writer/producer Jeff Dayton (George Strait, Glen Campbell, Buck Owens).  In June, the Arizona native and recent Nashville transplant signed her first record deal with new, Nashville-based independent label, FrontWater Records.

“We are very excited about the release of Daisy’s first single, ‘Do You Think of Me?’ which showcases her impressive songwriting and vocal talents,” says FrontWater Records President Robert Dale. “The song asks a question that many have asked at some point – ‘When you think of love, do you think of me?’  We feel strongly that this sentiment will connect with a lot of young female listeners at Country radio.”

Mallory has generated significant buzz within the Nashville music industry and at Country radio in the past year.  The video for “Do You Think of Me?” has been serviced to all national Country music video outlets and has already received early placement on CMT.com, GACTV.com and Yahoo.com.

“Daisy Mallory is a rare combination of beautiful voice, performance talent and songwriting ability.   She writes songs about right where she is, so she conveys a refreshing authenticity and a delightful, simple energy that draws you into the story her songs tell,” says Erich Sielaff, host of KKNT’s Music Café Radio Show in Phoenix, Ariz.

Adds KRDE’s Sean Cram, “No matter the subject, Daisy displays that she’s got a solid grasp on the topic she’s singing and writing about.  ‘Do You Think Of Me?’ is another fine example of her ability to showcase that she has what it takes to be a superstar.”

The young singer-songwriter has been invited to perform at Nashville’s legendary Bluebird Café numerous times (and returns September 26), and appeared in March 2010 alongside Reba McEntire, David Foster and Kris Kristofferson at Muhammad Ali’s Celebrity Fight Night benefit in Phoenix, Ariz.  On July 24, Mallory performed a private show for VIPs attending the Starkey Hearing Foundation’s “So the World May Hear” awards gala this past weekend in St. Paul, Minn.

Iconic Golfer John Daly Releases New Album, “I Only Know One Way”

Iconic Golfer John Daly Releases New Album, “I Only Know One Way”

Now available through Nashville-based digital label, GMV Nashville

(Nashville, TN – July 15, 2010)  Iconic and often unpredictable golfer, John Daly, has added a new shot to his repertoire, releasing an album of heartfelt and semi-autobiographical songs through Nashville-based digital distribution label, GMV Nashville.

His latest effort, titled I Only Know One Way, is Daly’s second album release and features a mix of Country and blues-infused rockers (“Hit It Hard,” “Big John”), contemplative ballads (“Wrong Directions,” “Lost Souls”) and the occasional cover song (Bob Dylan’s “Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door”).  The insightful “I Only Know One Way” features chart-topping former Hootie and the Blowfish front man and current Country star, Darius Rucker.  Rucker also helped Daly co-write the title track.

“The album itself is really my life,” said Daly in a recent interview with Airplay Direct.  “All of the songs have a meaning to them… Most of the record is happening – or has happened in my life.  I hope people can relate to some of the troubles I have had along the way.  Everyone around the world has problems, and I want to connect with those people.”

I Only Know One Way is currently available as a digital album through GMV Nashville (www.GMVNashville.com), an online record label that specializes in releases from classic and contemporary Country artists, such as Charlie Daniels, Toy Caldwell, Lane Brody and more.  Much of the label’s catalog is out-of-print or hard to find titles.  GMV also features special projects like Daly’s I Only Know One Way and the epic three-disc patriotic collection, This Is My America.  Daly’s album, recorded for Long Ball Records, is a joint venture project between Long Ball, HopeSong Digital and GMV Nashville.

Following his debut release, My Life, Daly was encouraged to record a follow-up album by friend and Nashville industry veteran, Herky Williams.  Williams connected Daly with songwriter and record producer David Malloy (Reba McEntire, Eddie Rabbitt, Tim McGraw, Julianne Hough), who produced the 11-track collection in Nashville.

Charlie Daniels To Be Featured In GEICO Commercial

Charlie Daniels To Be Featured In GEICO Commercial

Tune in beginning Monday, Dec 28th

On Monday, 12/28  GEICO will launch four TV spots as part of a new campaign, called “Rhetorical Questions.”  The new creative joins their on-air rotation as the fifth current storyline, in addition to the Gecko, Cavemen, “Talking Accidents” and googly-eyed “Kash.”

During the last 15 years, everyone’s heard GEICO’s famous tagline: “15 minutes could save you 15% or more on car insurance.”

With that in mind, GEICO’s savings message has a refreshed twist. The idea: people know this tagline so well, we could phrase it as a rhetorical question.

Each spot begins with an investigative reporter-type host, played by Mike McGlone (from The Brothers McMullen,) asking the question: “Could switching to GEICO really save you 15% or more on car insurance?”

Well…

“Is Ed “Too Tall” Jones too tall?”

“Does Charlie Daniels play a mean fiddle?”

“Does Elmer Fudd have trouble with the letter R?”

“Did The Waltons take way too long to say goodnight?”

Obviously, GEICO’s answer is a resounding “yes.”

(Charlie’s GEICO commercial will be posted on www.charliedaniels.com 12/28)

New Twitter Chart Tracks Popularity of Country Artists

New Twitter Chart Tracks Popularity of Country Artists

Music Row Magazine and AristoWorks Partner to Create New Social Network Charting System

Karla dvdrip

Men at Work ipod

(Nashville, TN – June 9, 2009)  Country music trade publication MusicRow and New Media marketing group AristoWorks have formed a chart to track Country music artists’ popularity among Twitter users.

The rankings are based on the number of users “following” each artist.  Currently, there are 72 chart positions.  Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift occupy the No. 1 and 2 spots, respectively, with Billy Ray Cyrus, Keith Urban, LeAnn Rimes, Kellie Pickler, Julianne Hough, Rascal Flatts, Martina McBride and Willie Nelson rounding out the Top 10.  An artist must have a minimum of 100 followers to chart.

“Today’s media landscape is becoming a highly fragmented, on-demand media world,” says MusicRow Publisher David M. Ross.  “As a result, artists are using an increasingly sophisticated new tool set to reach consumers and create new fans.  This Twitter chart is the first of a series of projects we are developing with AristoWorks to help our readers quantify their online efforts.”

The first of its kind charting system, developed by AristoWorks, utilizes the Active Programming Interface (API) offered by Twitter and gathers data to update the chart daily.

“This system really stems from a simple idea, but gives labels, managers and new media marketers a unique benchmark for where their brands stack up against others,” says AristoWorks New Media Director Jon Walker.  “Although the Twitter chart is currently operating in beta mode, the immediate response from artists, labels and managers has been impressive.”

Additional chart features, including user trending statistics, will be implemented in the official release.  View the new Twitter chart at: www.musicrow.com/charts/top-ranking-country-artists/ The Pacifier the movie
