Sixteen International Country Artists Appear at 2010 Global Events

Five countries represented at June 7-8 showcases in downtown Nashville

(Nashville, TN – June 16, 2010) Sixteen international Country artists from five different countries performed at the annual Global Events showcases during CMA Music Festival week this year in downtown Nashville, Tenn.
The CMA Global Artist Party on June 7 was held at The Stage on Broadway and featured performances from Luke Austen (Australia), Jaydee Bixby (Canada), David Bradley (UK), Sinead Burgess (Australia), Cameron Clayton (New Zealand), Tim McKay (UK), One More Girl (Canada) and Alex J. Robinson (Canada). Canadian artist Adam Gregory served as host at the standing room only event and performed an acoustic set as well.

“More than ever, Nashville needed the support of Country music fans from around the world, and that’s exactly what Music City got this year,” said David Bradley, who performed the closing set at the CMA Global Artist Party.  “Both of the Global Events showcases were packed with industry and fans, and I was thrilled to hear that this was one of the most highly attended CMA Music Fests ever.   Thanks to everyone who showed their support for this wonderful city and Country music from around the globe.  Nashville is alive and well and open for business!”

The annual AristoMedia Global Showcase, hosted by Australian duo O’Shea, was held June 8 at The Second Fiddle.  This year’s performers included Travis Collins (Australia), Emma King & The Heartsets (UK), The European Highwaymen (Norway), Jessie Farrell (Canada), Jo Hikk (Canada), Steven Lee Olsen (Canada), Ronnie Rae Rivers (Australia) and Joe Robinson (Australia).

“This year was our most successful turnout yet at our Global Events showcases,” said AristoMedia Group President Jeff Walker.  “I believe that this year’s lineup was probably the most diverse and talented group we’ve ever had, and the crowds were very receptive to these international artists.  Canada and Australia already have a history of delivering successful Country acts, so it’s encouraging to see places like Norway and the UK producing good quality Country music, too.”

Performers Added to "Rock For Recovery" Benefit Concert Oct. 16

Performers Added to "Rock For Recovery" Benefit Concert Oct. 16

NASHVILLE, TN (October 13, 2009) – Brad Arnold, Robert Reynolds and Dan Shafer have been added to the “Rock for Recovery” concert to be held this Friday, Oct. 16, at Nashville’s Corner Pub.

Organized by Country artist Eric Lee Beddingfield to benefit the victims of the floods last month in Georgia, Alabama and Tennessee, the concert will raise funds to be donated to the American Red Cross.  Online social network Digital Rodeo has signed on to sponsor the event, which is currently the only benefit concert happening for the victims of this disaster.  The concert is set to coincide with the University of Georgia/Vanderbilt football game in Nashville the next day.

Martinez, Ga., native Beddingfield will headline the show, which kicks off at 7 p.m. in the Corner Pub parking lot in Midtown.  3 Doors Down front man Brad Arnold, former Mavericks bassist Robert Reynolds and Dan Shafer will also perform.  Previously announced performers include Tommy Townsend, Rachel Williams and Wayne Mills Band.  View a special message from Beddingfield about “Rock for Recovery” here.

“The devastation hit so close to home for my family and fans that I had to do something,” Beddingfield says.  “Nashville and Georgia share so many musical ties that it’s only fitting that we use the talent we have here to help out those affected by the flooding not only back home in Georgia, but right here in Tennessee, too.”

All proceeds raised from the event will go to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund to assist those families that were affected in more than 20 counties.  Atlanta, Ga. Mayor Shirley Franklin estimates the final damage cost will exceed $1 billion.  The American Red Cross has already provided nearly 3,000 overnight stays in their shelters as a result of the floods.   Media can download the “Rock for Recovery” PSA here.

General admission is $15 or, for a donation of $75, fans can purchase a VIP ticket that includes food, drinks and an artist meet-and-greet.   Tickets are available online at www.cornerpubtn.com or at the Corner Pub on the day of the show.

About the American Red Cross: The American Red Cross shelters, feeds and provides emotional support to victims of disasters; supplies nearly half of the nation’s blood; teaches lifesaving skills; provides international humanitarian aid; and supports military members and their families.
