CRB, Inc.® Introduces New Digital Liners System to Replace Artist Radio Taping Session at CRS

Superstars Carrie Underwood, Brooks & Dunn Among Those Already Confirmed

(Nashville, TN – November 16, 2009)  In the latest evolution of the Country Radio Seminar experience, Country Radio Broadcasters has announced a new digital liners system that replaces the on-site Artist Radio Taping Session at CRS.

The new digital process enables radio stations to submit their custom liner requests directly to CRB, which will deliver the liners to a specific list of registered artists on the station’s behalf.  The artists will then record digital versions and return them to Country Radio Broadcasters.  Radio stations will pick up their disc of liners when they arrive at CRS registration.  Stations must register for the new system by Dec. 18, 2009 (the CRS 41 Advance Rate deadline) to submit custom requests.  Stations that have already registered for CRS are automatically included.

“With this new and improved digital system, Country Radio Broadcasters has used today’s technological advances to provide radio with liners of the highest possible quality.  At the same time, we are providing artists with an opportunity to record those liners in a manner that will work with their busy schedules,” says CRB Board Member John Zarling, who is overseeing the digital transition along with fellow Board Member Clarence Spalding.  “If the caliber and diversity of artists already confirmed is any indication, CRS 41 is poised to deliver an amazing package of liners for our registrants.”

The first 150 stations to sign up for the new digital liners system will be given priority access to the participating artists.  Artists already confirmed include: Jason Aldean, Rodney Atkins, The Band Perry, Brooks & Dunn, Jason Michael Carroll, Carter’s Chord, Terri Clark, Whitney Duncan, Sara Evans, Fast Ryde, Pat Green, Jewel, Blaine Larsen, The Lost Trailers, Justin Moore, Craig Morgan, Mica Roberts, Steel Magnolia, Carrie Underwood, Jimmy Wayne, Chuck Wicks, Mark Wills, Gretchen Wilson and Darryl Worley.

For specific radio attendee inquiries, contact Kristen McCrary at 615-327-4487 or Kristen@CRB.org.  For specific artist inquiries, contact Chasity Crouch at 615-327-4487 or Chasity@CRB.org.  For more information about the new digital liners system, visit www.CRB.org/crs41/digitalliners/index.shtml.

Popular Focus Group Panel to Return at CRS 41

Consumers Reveal Candid Thoughts on Country Radio and Music Industry in Live Panel

(Nashville, TN – Oct. 26, 2009) Country Radio Broadcasters, Inc.® has announced the return of its popular consumer focus group panel as part of the revitalized CRS agenda at Country Radio Seminar® 41, to be held Feb. 24-26, 2010.

“Normal People: From the Mouths of the Consumer,” will be held Friday, Feb. 26 at 10 a.m. CST.  The live focus group provides a candid glimpse into the minds and opinions of the Country music consumer, from teenage high school students to career-oriented professionals.

“Sometimes it just makes sense to step back and ask the people that listen to the music and buy the records exactly what’s on their mind,” says panel moderator and WUBL MD Lance Houston.  “At the same time, maybe some of the panelists aren’t buying the records and aren’t listening to the radio, and we want to know why that is, too.”

Panelists will represent a generous cross-section of regional Country radio markets of varying sizes.  This marks the first time a live focus group has been held at Country Radio Seminar since CRS 35.

“It’s been several years since we’ve had a focus group at CRS, and keeping in the spirit of our agenda facelift, we thought this panel would really add some value to the Country Radio Seminar experience.  I expect this to be one of the highlights of CRS 41,” adds CRS Agenda Chairman John Paul.

Country Radio Seminar 41 is loaded with superstar performers, expert speakers, educational panels and several returning events that have not been featured in recent years.  As previously announced, Taylor Swift will perform at the popular Music City Jam™ (sponsored by the Academy of Country Music), financial authority Dave Ramsey

will deliver the Keynote Address, while panelists such as Bob Rosner provide valuable information that attendees can immediately put to use in the workplace.  A more streamlined CRS agenda also makes it easier to attend more of the panels offered at the seminar.

The early bird rate of $499 for CRS 41 expires this week on Oct. 30

.

Early bird and installment plan registration for CRS 41 is currently available online at www.CRB.org

"Workplace 911" Another Can't-Miss Panel at CRS 41

Best-Selling Author Bob Rosner Offers Timely Advice for Survival in Tough Times

(Nashville, TN – Sept. 15, 2009)  Best-selling business author and award-winning journalist, Bob Rosner, will host the Workplace 911 panel at Country Radio Seminar® 41, to be held Feb. 24-26, 2010, in downtown Nashville, Tenn.

Rosner, known as “Dilbert with a solution,” is the author of The Wall Street Journal best-seller, “The Boss’s Survival Guide,” as well as a regular contributor on the “Today” show and CNBC.  The WorkPlace 911 panel will be held Wednesday, Feb. 24, at 2:30 p.m., and according to Rosner, will offer CRS attendees valuable advice on “how to create a saner and more productive workplace, how to break through the masses to actually get hired, how to survive layoffs and restructuring and how to be the kind of boss people actually want to work for,” among other topics.

“Our Workplace 911 panel is particularly relevant to our attendees this year.  Unfortunately, there are an unusually large number of qualified individuals competing for jobs in this industry right now, and whether you’re currently employed or not, Bob Rosner’s practical advice and insight couldn’t come at a more opportune time,” says CRB Executive Director Ed Salamon.

For the last 14 years, Rosner has co-authored the internationally syndicated column “WorkPlace911,” (formerly “Working Wounded: Advice That Adds Insight to Injury”) appearing in publications such as the Los Angeles Times, New York Daily News and online at ABCnews.com.  He has been a featured contributor for People, The Wall Street Journal, Fortune, Newsweek, Reader’s Digest, Playboy and on “Good Morning America” and “60 Minutes,” among others.  Rosner has delivered keynote speeches in 48 of the 50 United States, as well as Australia, England, Canada, New Zealand, Scotland and the Philippines.

“Radio can play a key role in helping people survive these tough times.  This is a win-win situation; it’s good for the industry and good for the radio audience,” says Rosner.

Rosner’s appearance at CRS 41 follows in the seminar’s recent tradition of booking prominent speakers to address and empower attendees in the face of a difficult economy, including marketing guru Seth Godin (keynote speaker at CRS 40) and money management expert (Dave Ramsey, keynote speaker at CRS 41).

Early bird and installment plan registration for CRS 41 is currently available online at www.CRB.org or by contacting the Country Radio Broadcasters at 615-327-4487. Follow CRS 41 on Facebook, or on Twitter at www.Twitter.com/OfficialCRS.

Dave Ramsey Announced as Country Radio Seminar® 41 Keynote Speaker

(Nashville, TN – Aug. 31, 2009) Prominent author, radio personality and money management expert Dave Ramsey has been announced as the Keynote Speaker for next year’s CRS 41, to be held Feb. 24-26, 2010 in Nashville, Tenn.

Ramsey’s latest best-selling book is titled “The Total Money Makeover,” a follow-up to his New York Times best-sellers, “Financial Peace” and “More Than Enough.” It has currently already sold more than 1 million copies. His nationally syndicated radio program, “The Dave Ramsey Show,” is heard by nearly 4.5 million listeners each week on more than 450 radio stations in the United States.

“Following in the footsteps of last year’s success with marketing expert Seth Godin, we are extremely pleased to welcome Dave Ramsey as our Keynote Speaker at CRS 41,” says CRB Executive Director Ed Salamon. “His insight and expertise in the field of finance is something that all of our attendees will benefit from, particularly in this economic transition. I strongly urge everyone at CRS 41 to attend this ‘can’t miss’ address.”

Through his books and radio program, Ramsey offers advice on financial responsibility, how to take care of loved ones, live prosperously into old age and give generously to others. Since October 2007, he has also hosted a television show on the Fox Business Network.

“Dave Ramsey is a perfect addition to the agenda for CRS 41.  He can certainly teach us all a thing or two about successful marketing and finance and how to parlay your expertise into multiple, profitable but compatible businesses.  I have no doubt Dave will set the tone for another successful CRS,” says CRB President Becky Brenner.

CRS 41 Agenda Sneak Preview

New Agenda Streamlined, More Accommodating for All Radio Markets, Music Industry Attendees

(Nashville, TN – August 17, 2009) Country Radio Broadcasters, Inc.® has overhauled and streamlined the agenda for Country Radio Seminar® 41, to be held Feb. 24-26, 2010, at the Nashville Convention Center.

There are several changes to the CRS 41 agenda.  This year’s topics stress relevant and usable information that can be applied in all radio station markets, regardless of size.  In the past, panels were tailored to small, medium or large markets; this year each panel will apply to all market sizes and the music industry as well.  The single day Sales panels have been redistributed this year throughout the three days of the seminar.  Additionally, no more than three panels are being held simultaneously at any time during CRS 41.

“We listened to many of the suggestions we received after last year’s CRS, and one of the most popular requests we had was that there were so many panels to attend, it was hard to choose which ones to go to,” says KUPL’s John Paul, CRB Agenda Chair.  “So, this year we made a conscious effort to reassess our agenda and structure it in such a way that would allow attendees to see more of the panels.”

Country Radio Seminar provides valuable opportunities for attendees to engage and network with others in their field, enjoy musical performances from superstars and up-and-coming acts and attend dozens of panels and exhibits that address today’s most relevant topics in a Country radio’s rapidly changing industry.

A sneak peek at this year’s agenda highlights follows:

Wednesday, Feb. 24:  Wednesday features the anticipated, to-be-announced Keynote Speaker, followed by the Universal Music Group luncheon and label showcase, the songwriter event KCRS Live!, the return of the Artist/Attendee Welcome Reception and the popular Music City JamTM, hosted this year by Taylor Swift and sponsored by the Academy of Country Music.  Notable panels on Wednesday include Bob Rosner’s “Workplace 911″ and “The Taylor Effect,” a look at the marketing strategies that have been successful for modern superstar Taylor Swift.

Thursday, Feb. 25:  Thursday’s agenda consolidates many of the panels formerly identified as “Track” panels and implements more accessible information that can be used by all attendees.  Examples include: “So You Think You Know How to Do An Artist Interview? You’re Wrong!” “The Great Playlist Debate: Can Passive Be Passionate?” and a special research project.  Other events during the day include Sony Music Entertainment’s luncheon and showcase, BMI/Country Aircheck’s WCRS Live! and a host of other informative discussion panels.

Friday, Feb. 26:  Friday kicks off with the newly renamed Power Breakfast (formerly Manager’s Breakfast), followed by the Capitol luncheon and showcase.  Panels on Friday cover a broad range of interests, including sales, new media, promotions and a yet-to-be-named “Hot Topic” panel.  Notable panels already confirmed include: “PPM Affects Every Facet of Our Industry, and This Means You!” “Arbitron vs. Nielsen” and “51 Great Promotional Ideas in 50 Minutes.”  CRS 41 closes with the highly anticipated New Faces of Country Music® Show and Dinner.  Performers have yet to be announced.

A detailed schedule of CRS 41′s Agenda and confirmed panelists can be viewed at the Country Radio Broadcasters website: www.CRB.org.  CRB, Inc. reserves the right to modify or change the agenda as speakers and panelists are added or removed and topics are defined.

Early bird and installment plan registration is currently available online at www.CRB.org or by contacting the Country Radio Broadcasters at 615-327-4487. Follow CRS 41 on Facebook, or on Twitter at www.Twitter.com/OfficialCRS.
