Ty Herndon Releases New Single, “Stones,” Prepares Album For 2012 Release

Unreleased track from previously shelved album finally sees light of day

(Nashville, Tenn. – Nov. 14, 2011) FUNL Music/Flying Island Entertainment artist and Grammy-nominated singer Ty Herndon has released “Stones,” the lead single from his anticipated new studio album, due out in early 2012.

Herndon originally recorded “Stones” for a project that was completed several years ago but never released.  While searching for new material for his upcoming album, however, Herndon rediscovered the song and decided to re-record it.  The updated version impressed the chart-topping Country singer so much that he decided to release “Stones” as the album’s lead single.

“The song ‘Stones’ is really a metaphor for all of those defining moments in our lives that we are faced with,” says Herndon.  “Like the lyrics say, ‘from the cradle to the grave, our lives are paved with stones.’  I’ve always felt it was such a remarkable and thought-provoking song, and it’s really stuck with me through the years.  I’m just thrilled that I’m finally able to share it with my fans.  I can’t think of a better song to release as the first single from my new album.”

“Stones” is the first new music released by Herndon since his critically acclaimed, award-winning 2010 album, Journey On.  The project earned a Grammy nomination in the Best Southern, Country or Bluegrass Gospel Album category and won a Dove Award for the inspirational duet, “When We Fly.”  The “Journey On” title track was also selected as the signature song and music video for the national nonprofit ALS organization, The Kevin Turner Foundation.

“Stones” is going for adds at Country radio now.  After shipping via digital delivery service Play MPE on Nov. 2, the track finished as the most downloaded and streamed song of the day in Play MPE’s Country format.

“Stones” was written by Jimbeau Hinson, Kim Tribble and Jon Michaels.  Preview and purchase “Stones” via iTunes here or at Amazon.com here.

Country Artist Amber Hayes Records Theme Song For Oklahoma High School Football Games

“Friday Night Fight” selected as official high school football song for Cox cable broadcasts

(Nashville, Tenn. – Sept. 26, 2011) FUNL Music Country artist Amber Hayes has recorded “Friday Night Fight” to be used as the official theme song for all televised Cox cable high school football games in Oklahoma.

A native of tiny Weleetka, Okla., Hayes co-wrote “Friday Night Fight” with Angela Sullivan and guitarist Bill DiLuigi and appears in the video segments that introduce the televised games each week. The music video was shot during a high school game in Moore, Okla. To view the “Friday Night Fight” video, check the Cox website here for local television air times or to hear the song, please visit www.AmberHayesMusic.com.

“Growing up in Oklahoma and being a cheerleader in high school, I understand exactly how important football is in these communities and across the whole state,” says Hayes, who currently lives in Nashville. “I still remember the excitement and the adrenaline rush you’d get being out there on the field, so when I got the opportunity to write and record this song, I didn’t think twice about it. I’m really proud to be associated with this Thursday and Friday night tradition in the great state where I grew up.”

Since June, Hayes has been performing shows around the country with FUNL label mate Ty Herndon and visiting radio stations in support of her current single, “Wait.” The song is steadily moving up the charts and jumped two spots this week to No. 45 on the Billboard Indicator chart. “Wait” follows Hayes’ 2010 debut single, “C’mon,” which was a Top 40 success on the Music Row CountryBreakout chart.

In May, the rising star made her first movie appearance in the rodeo-themed family film “Cowgirls N’ Angels.” Starring James Cromwell (“Babe,” “L.A. Confidential”), Bailee Madison (“Just Go With It,” “Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark,” “Bridge to Terabithia”), Jackson Rathbone (“Twilight,” “New Moon”) and Frankie Faison (“The Silence of the Lambs,” “Meet the Browns”), Hayes plays a supporting role as a honky tonk singer in the Timothy Armstrong-directed film. Hayes’ original songs, “C’mon” and “Right as Rain,” as well as one new unreleased track, are featured prominently in the movie. “Cowgirls N’ Angels” was shot in several cities across Oklahoma, including Stillwater, Guthrie, Pawnee and Oklahoma City and is scheduled for a 2012 release.

On Oct. 6, Hayes will perform at the Hard Rock Café in Nashville for the Forget-Me-Not Alzheimer’s benefit, and later that month she travels to Japan and China for additional shows, including the Country Gold Festival. Hayes remains busy writing and recording new material in Nashville for her sophomore album, to be released in 2012.

Country Artist Amber Hayes Lands Role in “Cowgirls N’ Angels” Motion Picture

Film and soundtrack to feature current and unreleased Hayes tracks

(Nashville, Tenn. – June 1, 2011) FUNL Music recording artist Amber Hayes has been cast in her debut movie role in the family-friendly, rodeo-themed motion picture, “Cowgirls N’ Angels,” due out in 2012.

Hayes, an accomplished former theater performer, plays a supporting role in the film as honky tonk singer Amber Grant.  Hayes’ original songs “C’mon” and “Right as Rain,” from her 2010 EP release C’mon, are featured prominently in the movie and on the Cowgirls N’ Angels soundtrack.  One new unreleased track, a heart-wrenching ballad written specifically for the film by the rising Country star and titled “Always There For Me,” is also included.

“This was such a thrill for me to be cast in ‘Cowgirls N’ Angels,’ says Hayes.  “I’m really grateful to the cast and crew and director Timothy Armstrong for including me and my music in the film, and I had a wonderful time trying my hand at something new.  I’m so excited to see the finished movie next year!”

The film is Hayes’ first motion picture role, though she has starred in several successful theater productions, including her leading role performance as Kathy Twitty in the 2008 critically acclaimed Conway Twitty musical, “It’s Only Make Believe.”

“I couldn’t be more pleased with Amber Hayes,” says director Timothy Armstrong.  “She brought great style and personality to “Cowgirls N’ Angels.”  Her amazing voice and songwriting skills helped create a wonderful honky tonk scene, which is an important part of the movie.  The song that she wrote, “Always There for Me,” is heartbreakingly beautiful and has been chosen to be featured prominently in another scene in the movie.  She is a great talent!”

Hayes’ current single, “Wait,” continues to climb the charts at Country radio, with the song’s music video receiving airplay at The Country Network, GACTV.com and Yallwire.com, where it debuted at No. 1 on the site’s Top 100 chart.  She has been touring with FUNL Music label mate Ty Herndon in recent weeks.

Co-written by Timothy Armstrong and Stephen Blinn, “Cowgirls N’ Angels” is the coming-of-age story of Ida Clayton (played by Bailee Madison), a rebellious young girl in search of her rodeo-riding father.  On her journey, Clayton meets and joins the Sweethearts of the Rodeo, an all-female group of riders organized by former rodeo star Terence Parker (played by James Cromwell).

Led by Madison (“Just Go With It,” “Bridge to Terabithia”) and Cromwell (“Babe,” “L.A. Confidential”), “Cowgirls N’ Angels” also stars Alicia Witt (“Friday Night Lights,” “88 Minutes”), Frankie Faison (“The Silence of the Lambs,” “Meet the Browns”), Jackson Rathbone (“Twilight,” “New Moon”), Madison Burge (“Friday Night Lights,” “Seven Days In Utopia”), Leslie-Anne Huff (“MacKenzie Falls,” “Strawberry Cliff”) and Kathleen Rose Perkins (“The Island”).  Hayes’ father in the film is played by Richie McDonald, former lead singer of chart-topping Country group, Lonestar.

Produced by Ben Feingold, Sweethearts LLC and Sense and Sensibility Ventures LLC, “Cowgirls N’ Angels” is expected to wrap up production this week in Oklahoma.  The film was shot in several cities and communities across the state, including Stillwater, Guthrie, Pawnee and Oklahoma City, which is only 90 miles from Hayes’ hometown of Weleetka, Okla.

Amber Hayes Inks Booking Agreement with Nashville Agency, Brand N Music Partnerships

Current single, “Wait,” gaining momentum on Music Row chart

(Nashville, Tenn. – March 14, 2011) FUNL Music recording artist Amber Hayes has entered into an exclusive booking agreement as of March 1 with Nashville-based talent agency and marketing firm, Brand N Music Partnerships.

The agreement places the rising Country artist on the same roster as her FUNL Music label mate, Ty Herndon, who signed with the agency in December.  Brand N Music VP/Operations Greg Burns is representing both artists for all U.S. dates.

Hayes’ current single, “Wait,” continues to gain momentum at Country radio as it moves up the charts.  It is the second release from the Oklahoma native’s 2010 EP, C’mon, which has already produced a Top 40 hit on the Music Row chart with its title-track single, “C’mon.”  “Wait” was released nationally to Country radio in February.

“I was absolutely thrilled when Brand N Music was given the opportunity to work with Amber Hayes,” says Brand N Music VP/Operations Greg Burns.  “Amber’s recent success with her debut single and the early reaction from radio to her new song, ‘Wait,’ is creating a lot of positive attention.  I’m also finding that there’s a substantial interest in Amber that dates back to her days starring in the Conway Twitty musical.  Once people have seen her on stage, they understand the kind of energy and charisma she brings, and they want to bring her back as soon as possible.  I’m optimistic about what the future has in store for this talented young artist, and Brand N Music is excited to be a part of it.”

Hayes enjoyed a breakout year in 2010 following the release of her debut single, “C’mon,” visiting more than 75 radio stations during an extended summer radio tour.   She performed and made numerous appearances at the CMA Music Festival in June and in September celebrated the release of her C’mon EP album with a live concert and broadcast on legendary radio station, WSM 650AM.

New Single From Amber Hayes Worth the “Wait”

Second release from Hayes’ debut album hits Country radio this week

(Nashville, Tenn. – Feb. 17, 2011) “Wait,” the new single from FUNL Music recording artist Amber Hayes, arrived at Country radio this week.

“Wait” is the second single from Hayes’ 2010 debut, C’mon.  The six-track EP has already produced a Top 40 single on the Music Row chart with its title track, earning the Oklahoma native high praise for her ability to integrate traditional-style Country music with contemporary, radio-friendly appeal.  Hayes co-wrote the new single with guitarist Bill DiLuigi and fellow songwriter Mark Conklin.

“The idea behind ‘Wait’ is really about that moment when someone catches your eye in line at the grocery store or the coffee shop,” says Hayes, who self-produced and co-wrote every song on her C’mon EP.  “It’s that dilemma of trying to decide whether to say hi or just go on about your day.  But wait – what if you are missing out on meeting someone special?  I think it’s an experience that most of us have had at one time or another, and it just kind of came out in this song.”

An accomplished singer, songwriter and former musical theater performer, Hayes enjoyed a breakout year in 2010, visiting radio stations throughout the summer in support of her previous single, “C’mon.”  She made numerous appearances and performed at the CMA Music Festival for the second year in a row and celebrated the release of her EP in September with a live concert on legendary radio station WSM 650AM.

Along with FUNL label mate Ty Herndon, Hayes played a special Nashville industry-only showcase event in October, drawing notable interest from several prominent booking agencies.  In November, she performed for a packed house of local and international media in town for the CMA Awards.

Inspirational “Journey On” video earns Grammy-nominated singer a spot on CMT’s High 5 Video Countdown

(Nashville, Tenn. – Dec. 16, 2010) FUNL Music recording artist and Grammy-nominated singer Ty Herndon has achieved something no other Country artist has done on CMT.com.

For the week ending Dec. 12, Herndon’s new “Journey On” video garnered enough views on CMT.com to make it one of the five most-watched videos on the entire website, allowing it placement on CMT’s High 5 Video Countdown.  “Journey On” is the first video to land on the countdown without already being in rotation on the network.

“Journey On” is the signature song for The Kevin Turner Foundation in its campaign to fight ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease.  The video opens with a personal message from Turner, a former Philadelphia Eagles and New England Patriots NFL football player who was diagnosed with the disease in May 2010.  Herndon and Turner first met earlier this year at an ALS benefit, which resulted in a music video being shot in Nashville by renowned directors Flick Wiltshire and Steven Goldmann.

The “Journey On” video is currently available for purchase at iTunes, with all proceeds benefiting the Kevin Turner Foundation and its efforts to fund research for an ALS cure.  Donations are also accepted at www.KevinTurnerFoundation.org.

Herndon’s Journey On album was recently nominated for a 2011 Grammy Award in the “Best Southern, Country or Bluegrass Gospel Album” category.  The Inspirational-Country project has already earned the singer a 2010 Dove Award for the song, “When We Fly.” The highly personal album also marks Herndon’s debut as a songwriter, having co-written every song on the project.

Ty Herndon’s 15-year career has produced more than four million album sales and multiple No. 1 singles on the Country charts, including “What Mattered Most,” “Living in a Moment” and “It Must Be Love.”  Among his eight studio albums and 17 charted singles are the Top 10 hits, “I Want My Goodbye Back,” “Loved Too Much,” “A Man Holding On (To a Woman Letting Go)” and “Hands of a Working Man.”
