Country Artist and Activist Lane Brody Balances Musical Career with Love of Animals, Environment

(Nashville, Tenn. – April 18, 2011)  Country artist Lane Brody is splitting her time these days between two of the Grammy-nominated singer’s biggest passions: creating meaningful music and rescuing and rehabilitating orphaned wildlife.

The chart-topping vocalist is currently staying busy writing and recording her next album, but also dedicates a substantial amount of time to her position as chairman of the board at Middle Tennessee wildlife rehabilitation center, Walden’s Puddle.

“The time I spend between my recording career and Walden’s Puddle is pretty evenly split, though I don’t really consider either one a ‘career’ in a conventional sense,” says Brody.  “My music and my love for all of God’s creatures are a large component of who I am.”

“Flame’s Turned Blue” is the most recent single from Brody’s 2010 release, On the Wings of Songs, available at www.GMVNashville.com.  Written and produced by Lane, the song effectively combines her musical talents with her environmentalist sensibilities.  The video was shot in Australia and serves as a wake-up call to mankind about the troubling issues plaguing our planet.

“Flame’s Turned Blue” (view here) is particularly relevant as Earth Day approaches on April 22, with several video outlets and environmental blogs including it in their Earth Day promotions.

“We should be guardians of all life and everything that sustains life,” says Brody.  “Doing the right thing always matters.”

On May 5, 2011, Brody is celebrating the official opening of the Walden’s Puddle Wildlife Education Center, housed at The Fontanel Mansion in Whites Creek, Tenn.  The event, billed as Walden’s Puddle “Cinco de Mayo Fiesta,” will feature performances from artists Lynn Anderson, Kathie Baillie, Brody, Cerrito, Bobby Marquez and a number of special guests.  WSMV’s Jennifer Herron will host the event.  For more information and to purchase tickets, visit www.WaldensPuddle.org or call (615) 299-9938.  Tickets are $15.

About Lane Brody:
Lane Brody is a multiple Grammy nominee in the Best Artist, Best Album and Best Jazz Vocal Performance categories and the first female artist in Country music to have a song from a soundtrack nominated for an Oscar award (“Over You,” from the film Tender Mercies).  A model, actress and entertainer, Brody appeared on the television sitcom, Taxi, and in numerous films, including Heart of the City.  She landed a No. 1 hit with her duet with Johnny Lee, “The Yellow Rose.”  Her most recent album is 2010’s On the Wings of Songs. For more information, visit www.LaneBrody.com.

About Walden’s Puddle:
Walden’s Puddle provides care and treatment to sick, injured and orphaned Tennessee wildlife.  Located in Joelton, Tenn., Walden’s Puddle is the only professionally staffed wildlife rehabilitation and education facility in Middle Tennessee.  The facility does not charge for services and receives no federal or state funding at this time.  Visit www.WaldensPuddle.org for more information.

About Fontanel:

The home boasts three stories, over 20 rooms, thirteen bathrooms, five fireplaces, two kitchens, an indoor pool and even an indoor shooting range on 136 acres of pristine land. Lane Brody Releases Environmentally Focused Video for New Single, ‘Flame’s Turned Blue’

Current Lane Brody album available at GMVNashville.com

(Nashville, Tenn. – Feb. 7, 2011) GMV Nashville artist and multi-Grammy nominee, Lane Brody, has released the video for her newest single, “Flame’s Turned Blue.”

Written and produced by Brody, “Flame’s Turned Blue” is a humanitarian response to the environmental issues developing around the globe.  A deeply personal track from her newest album, On the Wings of Songs, the video for “Flame’s Turned Blue” was shot, edited and directed by Australian native and highly acclaimed video producer, Ross Wood (Adam Brand, Catherine Britt, Tommy Emmanuel).

As a call-to-action and an effort to raise public awareness about deepening environmental issues, the video depicts a family struggling through the hardships of a drought.  Shot in Aiderville, Ky., and New South Wales, Australia, Brody collaborated with Wood to reinforce the idea that life and nature exist in a pointedly fragile balance.

“I feel that the disrespect, abuse and neglect of any of God’s blessed creations is an abomination,” says Brody.  “We should be guardians of all life and everything that sustains life – doing the right thing always matters.  That’s what I’m hoping to convey with the song and video for ‘Flame’s Turned Blue.’”

Adds Craig Bann, Sr. VP of Video Promotion for AristoMedia in Nashville, Tenn., “Director Ross Wood did a remarkable job of bringing Lane’s vision to the screen in her effort to raise awareness about these pressing environmental issues.  We’re excited to share this clip with our video outlets and help Lane communicate her message to the masses.”

The video is available to view here. The album is now available for purchase at GMVNashville.com, iTunes and Amazon.com.

(Nashville, TN – Nov. 29, 2010) Nashville-based digital label, GMV Nashville, has added a trio of Christmas titles from Deborah Allen, Daisy Mallory and Bill and Jeanine Walker to its digital catalog.

Deborah Allen’s “Redneck Christmas” is a tongue-in-cheek look at the redneck holiday tradition.  The humorous single features an appearance from Country comedian Cledus T. Judd and is currently receiving airplay at Country radio.  The artist behind such hits as “Baby I Lied” and “Rock Me,” Allen self-produced “Redneck Christmas” and recorded it at Nashville Sound Project House with her guitarist and multi-instrumentalist, Mike Loudermilk.  The versatile Pop and Country artist is preparing her eleventh studio album for release in early 2011.  Visit www.DeborahAllen.com for more information.

Newcomer Country artist Daisy Mallory completed a three-track holiday EP in November titled Merry Christmas. GMV Nashville Artist Lane Brody Records With Legendary Singer Johnny Mathis

(Nashville, TN – Nov. 24, 2010) GMV Nashville’s Lane Brody has recorded two versions of “What A Wonderful World” with legendary singer and Columbia Records artist Johnny Mathis for his recent Let It Be Me: Mathis In Nashville album.

Earlier this year, the two singers recorded a standard version and a Christmas interpretation of the classic tune, originally made famous by Louis Armstrong.  The two versions open and close Mathis’ new album, which was recorded in Nashville and released through Columbia Records in September 2010.  It is available for purchase at digital outlets including iTunes and Amazon.com.

“Johnny Mathis epitomized what I hoped to become as a singer and recording artist,” says Brody.  “From every voice I ever heard, I chose his as the greatest.  As a child and teenager, I did not go out like other kids did, I was in my room practicing, studying every album, every phrase and subtle nuance of his voice.  I have never had a vocal coach, and I was told I did not need one because I sang properly, having learned from him.  At 12, I had to lie to my parents in order to go to one of his concerts by myself.  I sat in a bleacher way up high and cried through every note and word, which I knew by heart.”

Continued Brody, “What was it like to sing with Johnny Mathis? Only God knows, because I have suffered greatly for my artistic integrity, and only He could have orchestrated and given me such a deeply personal and miraculous gift.”

Songs on Let It Be Me: Mathis In Nashville include “What A Wonderful World” (featuring Lane Brody), “Let It Be Me” (featuring Alison Krauss), “Make The World Go Away,” “Crazy,” “Southern Nights,” “You Don’t Know Me,” “Lovin’ Arms,” “Shenandoah,” “We Must Be Lovin’ Right,” “I Can’t Stop Lovin’ You,” “Love Me Tender,” “Please Help Me I’m Falling” and “What A Wonderful World (Christmas Version)” (featuring Lane Brody).

A video for “What A Wonderful World” is available here on YouTube.com.

About Lane Brody:
The beautiful and multi-talented Lane Brody is best known for her No. 1 Country duet with Johnny Lee, “The Yellow Rose.”  She has been nominated for multiple Grammy awards in the Best Artist, Best Album and Best Jazz Vocal Performance categories and was the first female singer in Country music to have a song from a soundtrack (“Over You,” from the film Tender Mercies) nominated for an Oscar.  Lane has also worked as a model and an actress, appearing in the television sitcom series “Taxi” and in films like Heart of the City.  In early 2010, she released On The Wings Of Songs and reissued her collection of Jazz standards, Familiar Places. Both projects were released through Nashville-based digital label, GMV Nashville.  “South of the Border,” her 2010 single with Country artist Cerrito, went No. 1 on the New Music Weekly Country chart earlier this year.  Visit www.LaneBrody.com or www.GMVNashville.com for more information.

About Johnny Mathis:
Perhaps best-known for his landmark singles (three of his recordings—“Chances Are,” “It’s Not For Me To Say,” and “Misty”– have been inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame) Mathis was one of the very first musical artists to embrace the album concept and record fully-realized thematically and sonically coherent collections of songs.  His 1958 release, Johnny’s Greatest Hits, inaugurated the ongoing “greatest hits” anthology phenomenon, becoming one of the most popular albums of all time after spending an unprecedented 490 continuous weeks (almost ten years) on the BILLBOARD Top Albums Chart.  Johnny Mathis was given the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences in 2003.

Deborah Allen Entertains with New Christmas Single, “Redneck Christmas” Featuring Cledus T. Judd

“Redneck Christmas” now playing at Country radio, available at iTunes, Amazon.com

(Nashville, TN – Nov. 22, 2010) Grammy-nominated singer, songwriter and Country artist Deborah Allen has announced the release of a special Christmas single with Country comedian Cledus T. Judd, titled “Redneck Christmas.”

Released digitally through GMV Nashville, the humorous holiday track, written by Allen in 2009, was not recorded until 2010 when Judd stopped by the studio to provide the finishing touches and comic narrative heard throughout the song.

“I wanted to write a Christmas song that would make people smile, especially rednecks,” laughs Allen.  “I thought to myself, ‘What would make a good redneck gift?  A free hunting license?  A case of beer?  How about a good, redneck Christmas song?’  It was so much fun to write.  Cledus is my favorite redneck, so of course he had to be on it, and if you wanna know the truth, I think I might have a little redneck crush on Cledus T. Judd!”

“Redneck Christmas” is currently receiving airplay at Country radio and available for purchase at iTunes and other major digital retailers, including Amazon.com.  Allen self-produced the track and recorded it at Nashville Sound Project House with her guitarist and multi-instrumentalist Mike Loudermilk, with final overdubs and mixing at Nashville’s OMNIsound Studios.

In August, the soulful Delta singer released a special Elvis Presley tribute song titled “Amazing Graceland.”  Allen was inspired to write the track after a holiday performance at the legendary entertainer’s Graceland mansion in 2009.  Legendary DJ, George Klein, invited Deborah to debut the song during Elvis Week at Sirrius XM Satellite radio on‘The Elvis Hour’, and a live performance at the annual Memphis Mafia reunion in 2010 in Allen’s hometown of Memphis, Tenn.  “Amazing Graceland” is also available at iTunes and other digital outlets.

The artist behind such hits as “Baby I Lied” and “Rock Me,” Deborah Allen is preparing her eleventh studio album for release in early 2011.  With all songs penned by Allen, the project features the standout tunes, “It Better Be Big” and “There’s A Last Time For Everything,” as well as “Amazing Graceland.”  Deborah produced all of the tracks on the new CD, titled “Hear Me Now,” with the exception of three tracks, which were produced by her longtime friend and legendary songwriter/producer Bobby Braddock.

Now partnered with Delta Rock Music, Allen continues to oversee her publishing companies, Delta Queen Music and Delta Rose Music, while she finishes her upcoming album.  She is also producing the debut release from promising newcomer and protégée, Margaret Phillips.

Visit www.DeborahAllen.com to learn more about “Redneck Christmas” and “Amazing Graceland.”

Multi-million airplay, award-winning songwriter, producer and Grammy nominated recording artist Deborah Allen is known as one of the music industry’s most diverse and dynamic talents. Iconic Golfer John Daly Releases New Album, “I Only Know One Way”

Now available through Nashville-based digital label, GMV Nashville

(Nashville, TN – July 15, 2010)  Iconic and often unpredictable golfer, John Daly, has added a new shot to his repertoire, releasing an album of heartfelt and semi-autobiographical songs through Nashville-based digital distribution label, GMV Nashville.

His latest effort, titled I Only Know One Way, is Daly’s second album release and features a mix of Country and blues-infused rockers (“Hit It Hard,” “Big John”), contemplative ballads (“Wrong Directions,” “Lost Souls”) and the occasional cover song (Bob Dylan’s “Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door”).  The insightful “I Only Know One Way” features chart-topping former Hootie and the Blowfish front man and current Country star, Darius Rucker.  Rucker also helped Daly co-write the title track.

“The album itself is really my life,” said Daly in a recent interview with Airplay Direct.  “All of the songs have a meaning to them… Most of the record is happening – or has happened in my life.  I hope people can relate to some of the troubles I have had along the way.  Everyone around the world has problems, and I want to connect with those people.”

I Only Know One Way is currently available as a digital album through GMV Nashville (www.GMVNashville.com), an online record label that specializes in releases from classic and contemporary Country artists, such as Charlie Daniels, Toy Caldwell, Lane Brody and more.  Much of the label’s catalog is out-of-print or hard to find titles.  GMV also features special projects like Daly’s I Only Know One Way and the epic three-disc patriotic collection, This Is My America.  Daly’s album, recorded for Long Ball Records, is a joint venture project between Long Ball, HopeSong Digital and GMV Nashville.

Following his debut release, My Life, Daly was encouraged to record a follow-up album by friend and Nashville industry veteran, Herky Williams.  Williams connected Daly with songwriter and record producer David Malloy (Reba McEntire, Eddie Rabbitt, Tim McGraw, Julianne Hough), who produced the 11-track collection in Nashville.
