Loretta Lynn Honored by Artists, Industry at 50th Anniversary Event


(Nashville, Tenn. – Sept. 28, 2010) Country music icon Loretta Lynn was showered with an assortment of industry awards and heartfelt praise at her invitation-only 50th anniversary celebration, held at Lynn’s Hurricane Mills ranch on Friday, Sept. 24.

The Academy of Country Music®, Country Radio Broadcasters, Inc.® and BMI® each made presentations during the evening’s event.  Billed as “A Tribute to an American Icon,” the celebration honored Lynn’s 50 years in the Country music industry.  Ronnie McDowell presented Lynn with a hand-painted portrait of the legendary performer, and noted Nashville arranger and composer Bill Walker gave Lynn an arrangement of “Coal Miner’s Daughter,” originally penned for the television special, “Loretta Lynn on Broadway.”

Selected media and industry, as well as Lynn’s close friends and family, attended the packed ceremony.  The evening’s activities included a catered reception, media Q&A session and the multiple award presentations, hosted by John Carter Cash.  A performance by Lynn’s sister, Crystal Gayle, followed the event at 9 p.m.

Loretta Lynn Celebrates Legendary Career with 50th Anniversary Event Sept. 24


Invitation-only celebration to be held at Loretta Lynn Ranch in Hurricane Mills

(Nashville, Tenn. – Sept. 16, 2010) Country music legend Loretta Lynn  is celebrating her 50th year making music with a special invitation-only event to be held Friday, Sept. 24, at the famed Loretta Lynn Ranch in Hurricane Mills, Tenn.

Held on-site at Lynn’s 18,000 square foot Coal Miner’s Daughter Museum and billed as “A Tribute to an American Icon,” the evening’s activities include a catered reception, media Q&A session and a performance by Lynn’s sister, Crystal Gayle, following the official unveiling of Gayle’s new display inside the museum.  Event invitations were extended to select industry, media and artists, as well as Lynn’s family and closest friends.

The media Q&A session begins at 5:30 p.m. CST, with the reception following at 6 p.m.  Lynn will appear at the reception to briefly address the event’s attendees and mingle with other artists, industry and media.  Gayle’s performance is at 9 p.m. and is open to the public.

Lynn’s “A Tribute to an American Icon” 50th anniversary celebration coincides with the superstar’s final performance of the year at her Hurricane Mills ranch and home, to be held Saturday, Sept. 25.  The concert is open to the public and is one of the special attractions available during the weekend events for Lynn’s fans and the general public.  Visit www.LorettaLynn.com for more information and to purchase tickets to the show.

Lynn’s much-anticipated tribute album, Coal Miner’s Daughter: A Tribute to Loretta Lynn, will be released through Columbia Records on Nov. 9, 2010.  The project, which features special guests Sheryl Crow, Steve Earle, Faith Hill, Alan Jackson, Kid Rock, Miranda Lambert, Martina McBride, Allison Moorer, Paramore, Reba, Carrie Underwood, The White Stripes, Lucinda Williams, Gretchen Wilson and Lee Ann Womack, features an updated version of her classic track, “Coal Miner’s Daughter.”  The single, performed by Lynn with Miranda Lambert and Sheryl Crow, shipped to Country radio on Sept. 14 and is available for digital download purchase on Sept. 28.

Charlie Daniels To Appear on "Legends & Lyrics" Show July 4


New Weekly Series Features Performances and Interviews with Hit Songwriters, Legendary Artists

(Nashville, TN – June 29, 2009)

The program, which debuted on May 9, pairs legendary songwriters and performers with promising new talent in an “in-the-round” writer’s format that features performances and interviews with the artists.

Daniels’ episode will also feature appearances from Phil Vassar and Jimmy Webb.

Daniels recently returned from his third international trip to visit military troops in Iraq and Kuwait and is currently touring the U.S. through the end of 2009.

The first season of “Legends & Lyrics” features acts including Kris Kristofferson, Kenny Loggins, Patty Griffin, Shawn Colvin and John Hiatt, as well as rising artists The Laws, Stephanie Chapman, Corinne Chapman, Jonathan Singleton, Nathan Lee, Mike Musick, Will Hoge and more.  Each episode will also include a one-on-one conversation with a featured guest, such Garth Brooks, Loretta Lynn, Ray Stevens, Steve Cropper, Cowboy Jack Clement and others.

“Legends & Lyrics” is produced by Nashville-based production company Song-Writers In The Round, LLC.  Season one episodes were filmed on location in 1080 high-definition in Nashville, Tenn. at the Masonic Lodge and Shreveport, La. at the Scottish Rite Theatre.
