Marlee Scott to Release Beautiful Maybe Album on June 19

“Train Wreck” single continues its move up the charts, dance remix now available on iTunes

(Nashville, Tenn. – May 8, 2012) Big Ride Entertainment artist Marlee Scott is set to release her full-length debut album, titled Beautiful Maybe, on Tuesday, June 19.

Nearly a year in the making, Beautiful Maybe is a polished and diverse collection of songs that reflects a maturity rarely found on an artist’s debut release.  Included among the 12 tracks are Marlee’s uplifting 2011 single, “Beautiful Maybe,” the thought-provoking “Jane Doe” and the understated “I’m Not Your Baby Anymore,” the groove-inspired “Planet Of Your Own” and Marlee’s current single, the humorous bad relationship anthem “Train Wreck.”

Award-winning Nashville producer David Kalmusky delivers an edgy, Pop-infused production toBeautiful Maybe, while an impressive list of chart-topping songwriters contributes material to the project, including Desmond Child, Blair Daly, Marcus Hummon, Hillary Lindsey, Aimee Mayo and Troy Verges, among others.  Marlee co-wrote two songs on the album: “Kiss of Coming Home” and “I Love Hating You.”

“Beautiful Maybe is something I am so proud of,” says Marlee.  “This is my debut album, but I really feel like I have come into my own on this project musically.  I think the diversity of these songs offers something unique to my fans that will keep them coming back and listening to this record over and over again.  It’s relatable, fun and emotional, and I feel like each song has a message that will truly touch people in so many different ways.  In the end, that’s what making Country music is all about.”

Beautiful Maybe is Marlee’s debut release for Nashville-based label Big Ride Records.  Her current single “Train Wreck” (written by Marcus Hummon, Jedd Hughes and Sarah Buxton) features a guest vocal from Country legend Vince Gill and is gaining momentum not only at Country radio, but also in the dance clubs.  The bluegrass-tinged, Pop-Country track has translated well on the dance floor, inspiring a “Train Wreck” remix version and a custom choreographed “Wreck’d” line dance.  Allen Morgan produced and remixed the dance version, which is now available for purchase at iTunes.

In between her 2012 radio tour visits, Marlee continues to make a number of high-profile sporting event appearances.  On April 26, Marlee performed an acoustic set and the national anthem at the Chicago White Sox/Boston Red Sox baseball game in Chicago, Ill.   She appeared a week later at the Unbridled Eve Gala in conjunction with the Kentucky Derby in Louisville, Ky., and on Aug. 12 she will sing the national anthem live on ESPN at the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race in Watkins Glen, N.Y.  Marlee will also headline the Aug. 10 fan concert held on the Watkins Glen International infield.

In 2011, Marlee launched her “Make It or Bake It” webisode cooking series, which has helped boost her Facebook following to more than 30,000 likes.  The humorous video clips feature some of Marlee’s favorite food and drink recipes.  Her latest installment is a rum-based drink called “Super Hot Chocolate.”  View episodes here.

Marlee Scott Set For CMT, iTunes Debut of “Train Wreck” This Week

“Train Wreck” dance mix and custom line dance a hit in clubs

(Nashville, Tenn. – March 5, 2012) Country artist Marlee Scott is celebrating the iTunes release of her new “Train Wreck” single and the world premiere of the song’s music video across several prominent CMT platforms this week.

Marlee’s “Train Wreck” officially world premieres today, March 5, in conjunction with the release of the new CMT Insider application for iPad.  The app gives Country music fans an exclusive first look at Marlee’s new music video, directed by CMT Director of the Year award-winner Roman White (Taylor Swift’s “Fifteen,” Blake Shelton’s “Hillbilly Bone,” Lady Antebellum’s “Hello World”).  The CMT Insider app is also available on iPhone, iPod Touch, and Android devices.

On Tuesday, March 6, the video is set to premiere on CMT’s digital television channel, CMT Pure, as well as CMT.com and the homepage of its CMT Mobile site.

“Marlee is a young, emerging artist who has done a good job of promoting her music across several platforms – new and traditional,” said Stephen Linn, CMT’s Senior Director, Music Programming and Promotion.  “That’s one reason we think world premiering “Train Wreck” across our various platforms like the Insider app, CMT Pure and CMT.com will work well for the video.”

Produced by David Kalmusky, the tongue-in-cheek “Train Wreck” single debuts for purchase on iTunes on Tuesday, March 6.  A high-energy dance version, produced and remixed by Allen Morgan, will also be available for purchase.  The dance remix has been received enthusiastically at clubs across the country, thanks in part to its custom choreographed “Wreck’d” line dance.

Featuring a guest appearance from Vince Gill and written by acclaimed Nashville songwriters Marcus Hummon, Jedd Hughes and Sarah Buxton, the up-tempo single has been steadily moving up the Billboard, Aircheck and Music Row Country radio charts for the past several weeks.  “Train Wreck” is the second release from Marlee’s debut album, due out in the coming months on Big Ride Records.  In 2011, the Nashville-based singer introduced herself to Country radio with the uplifting anthem “Beautiful Maybe.”

Marlee has already visited more than 100 radio stations on a nationwide radio tour in support of “Train Wreck.”  She made several appearances at prominent sporting events in 2011, including the Breeders’ Cup World Championships, the Clemson/Virginia Tech college football ACC Championship game and several MLB baseball and NHL hockey games.  She also launched her “Make It or Bake It” webisode cooking series.  The humorous videos (view them here) feature some of Marlee’s favorite food and drink recipes.  Her latest installment is a rum-based concoction called “Super Hot Chocolate.”

Marlee Scott Releases New Single for 2012, “Train Wreck”

Marlee Scott Releases New Single for 2012, “Train Wreck”

At Country radio Jan. 23, available on iTunes Jan. 24

(Nashville, Tenn. – Jan. 10, 2012) Country artist Marlee Scott is releasing her new single, “Train Wreck,” to Country radio on Jan. 23 and to iTunes on Jan. 24.

“Train Wreck” is the second single from Scott’s forthcoming U.S. debut, due out in spring 2012 through Big Ride Records.  Scott has been recording the album in Nashville with engineer/producer David Kalmusky, who produced the project’s first single, “Beautiful Maybe.”  In addition to the Country radio single version, a dance remix of “Train Wreck” will also be available for purchase at iTunes on Jan. 24.

“Train Wreck grabbed me right out of the gate the first time I heard it,” says Scott.  “The Country/Rock groove and Bluegrass down-home Country chorus had me dancing around my condo!  It brings such a fun tongue-in-cheek outlook on what it’s like to fall for the wrong person, but you just can’t seem to get enough.  I love making people smile and chuckle and want to sing along, and ‘Train Wreck’ seems to do it every time.”

Nashville songwriting vets Marcus Hummon, Jedd Hughes and Sarah Buxton penned the rhythm-heavy number, with Country superstar Vince Gill contributing backing vocals to the track.

“Canada has had a great history of some of the best music I have ever heard,” says Gill.  “My wish for Marlee is to be part of that rich history.”

Adds producer Hummon, “Marlee is kind of a dream artist for a writer/producer because she has a lot of courage in choosing her material to record.  There’s nothing ‘safe’ about Marlee, and there is far too much ‘safe’ out there.  She comes into the studio prepared vocally, but also prepared emotionally, with a strong sense of the story she is telling.”

In December, Scott filmed the “Train Wreck” music video with award-winning director Roman White (Taylor Swift’s “Fifteen,” Blake Shelton’s “Hillbilly Bone,” Lady Antebellum’s “Hello World”).

Scott is currently visiting radio stations on a nationwide radio tour in support of “Train Wreck.”  In 2011, she visited more than 100 stations in the U.S. and Canada, while maintaining a busy schedule of appearances that included performances at The Breeders’ Cup World Championships, the Clemson/Virginia Tech ACC Championship college football game and several MLB baseball and NHL hockey games.

The Canadian-born Scott also launched her “Make It or Bake It” webisode cooking series in 2011 to enthusiastic response.  The humorous videos (view them here) feature the singer sharing and cooking some of her favorite recipes.
