About James Dupré
With his new single, “Hurt Good,” currently climbing the Country Radio charts, the one-time aspiring meteorologist-turned-paramedic-turned-singer/songwriter from Bayou Chicot, LA has to chuckle at the topsy-turvy nature in which his promising music career came to fruition. Dupré may have been bashful, but he learned at an early age that what he possessed vocally was pretty special. In 2015, Dupré tried out for the NBC’s The Voice, when all four chairs turned for the deep-registered crooner performing the Hootie & the Blowfish classic “Let Her Cry,” Dupré ultimately chose to join Team Adam Levine. Dupré’s tenure on the highly competitive reality show continued through to the “Knockout Round,” where his journey brought him back to Nashville. The opportunities that have come his way have been truly deserved, including earning himself a new friend and mentor in Randy Travis, as well as an acting role as Travis’ son in the movie The Price. Dupré’s most recent album, Stoned to Death, produced by Jordan Lehning, is a collection of music with seven out of ten songs co-written by Dupré.
