“Bronco Roads” Host and Singer-Songwriter Stacy Dean Campbell Plans New Album and Feature-Length Film

(Nashville, Tenn. – Dec. 5, 2012) Singer-songwriter, television host/director and author Stacy Dean Campbell is returning to the creative spotlight with plans for a new album and the development of a feature film in 2013.

Campbell is preparing to make his directorial debut with “Cottonwood,” based on the 2004 novel authored by the multi-talented, Texas-based artist.  “Cottonwood” is set in the Depression era in West Texas during the Dust Bowl and documents a series of events that turn a quiet community into a town of tension and frightening truths.  The historical drama is slated to star Anthony Michael Hall, Louis Gossett, Jr., Alison Eastwood and Joe Perry (of Aerosmith fame), among others.

“The process of getting ‘Cottonwood’ developed into a screenplay was a great validation,” said Campbell.  “The way it took a project that was a solo pursuit, and turned it into a tangible group effort provided me with great creative fulfillment.”

A 12-song album originally released with the novel in 2004 will serve as the backbone of the “Cottonwood” soundtrack.  Campbell is also returning to the studio in 2013 to record a new, full-length project of all original material.  It marks Campbell’s first official album release since 1999’s Ashes of Old Love.

In addition to Campbell’s upcoming music and movie endeavors, the New Mexico native continues to be busy with his television career, which includes hosting and production duties for “Bronco Roads” and narrating the Texas music docu-reality series, “Troubadour, TX.”

For more information about “Cottonwood,” visit www.CottonwoodFilm.com.  Filming is set to begin in early summer of 2013.
