Nashville native and Middle Tennessee State University graduate, Rick Kelly has served as Vice President of Radio Promotion at Marco Music Group since 2000. Prior to his time at AristoMedia, he held positions at RCA Records and Almo Sounds.

 

Q: Where is your hometown? And why did you decide to come to Nashville?

A. Nashville Is my hometown

 

Q: What is one interesting fact about you?

A. I’m the only person in my family who was born in the USA

 

Q: What is your favorite Nashville eatery?

A. So many…Margot? City House? Mas Tacos? There are a lot of great places here now.

 

Q: What is your favorite music venue? (Anywhere)

A. The Ryman. Not to be a “homer” – but yeah. It’s the Ryman

 

Q: If you could only pick one, what would be your all-time favorite song?

A. “My Funny Valentine” (Chet Baker version)

 

Q: What are some of your hobbies?

A. Cycling, Beekeeping, cooking, guitar

 

Q: What is your favorite thing to do in Nashville on the weekend?

A. Ride my bike, work in the yard/garden/beehives.

 

Q: If you could have any super power, what would it be?

A. Invisibilty.

 

Q: What is one type of food that you could not live without?

A. Cheese. Really good cheese.

 

Q: What actor would you want to play you in the movie of your life? Why?

A. Clooney. We look so much alike.

 

Q: If you could go anywhere in the world right now, where would you go?

A. Northern Spain

 

Q: How would your friends describe you?

A. Kindly, I hope.

 

Q: What TV or movie series are you obsessed with right now?

A. Game of Thrones and Boardwalk Empire are the only one’s I really love.

 

Q: What did you ‘want to be when you grew up’ as a kid?

A. Happy

 

Q: If time or money weren’t an issue, what would you be doing right now?

A. Travel, garden, read,

A. My Dad

A. To be Happy.

A. Rene Descartes is sitting in a bar drinking. He finishes his drink and the bartender says “Do you want another?”. Rene Descartes say “I think not”. And disappeared.

 

Q. What daily necessities do you keep in your desk drawer, pocket, or purse:

A. Allergy meds. Dental floss.

 

Q. What are your favorite things in your office:

A. Posters of Elvis, Cash, and The Clash
