THE CHARLIE DANIELS BAND TAKES THE STAGE FOR NSAI'S "IT ALL BEGINS WITH A SONG" PERFORMANCE SERIES

Concert in Series to Support Songwriters & Legislative Efforts

Nashville, Tennessee (August 20, 2009) – The legendary, Grammy-award winning Charlie Daniels Band will take the stage as part of NSAI’s “IT ALL BEGINS WITH A SONG” Performance Series at the Wildhorse Saloon (120 Second Avenue) on Thursday, August 27th. Prior to the CDB, Old Union will perform.

“NSAI is honored that an American icon of Charlie Daniels’ stature recognizes our hard work in legislative advocacy on behalf of all songwriters. No one represents our motto, “IT ALL BEGINS WITH A SONG” better than the man whose music has crossed so many boundaries and genres to mark the moments of our lives,” said NSAI President, Grammy-nominated songwriter Steve Bogard. “The CDB’s help comes at a critical time in the music industry and will assist NSAI in continuing our important mission.”

Tickets are on sale now at www.ticketmaster.com as well as the Wildhorse Retail Store or by calling 615.902.8211. General Admission tickets are $25, Reserved Seating tickets are $40 and a limited number of $100 tickets are available that include a Meet & Greet with The Charlie Daniels Band. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. The show begins at 7:30 p.m.

For the past 50 years, Charlie Daniels has been making music that spans the rock, country, bluegrass, blues and gospel genres but this show will be the first time since 2005’s July 4th Riverfront Celebration that there has been a full CDB concert in Nashville. Daniels’ also hosted musical extravaganzas – the Volunteer Jam – which served as a prototype for many of today’s annual day-long music marathons, always featuring a variety of current stars and heritage artists. The Grand Ole Opry member (only since 2008) came to Nashville as a guitar session player in 1967. CDB is known for their rebel anthems like “Long Haired Country Boy” and “The South’s Gonna Do It Again.” “The Devil Went Down to Georgia” became a Platinum single, topped both country and pop charts, won a Grammy Award, became an international phenomenon, earned three Country Music Association trophies, became a cornerstone of the Urban Cowboy movie soundtrack and propelled the CDB to multi-Platinum status. On October 12th, he will celebrate another career milestone – induction into the Musicians Hall of Fame. For more on The Charlie Daniels Band, visit www.charliedaniels.com.

Old Union was formed in Nashville in 2001 by Chuck Foster (keyboards and lead vocals), Johnny Zvolensky (guitars), Steve Spotty Swertfeger (guitars and vocals) and David Bryndal (drums), with the recent addition Professor “JDubb” Williams (bass).
