New album, Thin Line, Now Available for Pre-Order; New Show, Still The King, To Premiere June 12 on CMT

Country singer-songwriter and entertainer Billy Ray Cyrus has released details surrounding several upcoming projects, including the release of new music and a highly-anticipated new television series, Still The King.

Cyrus will release his new album, Thin Line, on September 9th through Blue Cadillac Music. Cyrus describes Thin Line as, “How I live my life; it’s a balance between art and reality,” which serves as the theme of the album.

Three select tracks will be available to download prior to the September album launch. The first, “Hey Elvis,” is available now. Cyrus’s cover of the Don Williams classic “Tulsa Time” will be available July 8, and the title track “Thin Line” will be available on August 12.

Cyrus fell in love with “Hey Elvis,” written by Bryan Adams and Gretchen Peters, nearly twenty years ago. This gritty rock rendition combines the unique forces of Cyrus, Adams, and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member Glenn Hughes. The music video will premiere June 4 on CMT’s Hot 20 Countdown and will be available for further viewing on CMT Music, CMT.com and CMT Mobile.

Simultaneously, Cyrus is launching a new television series on CMT called Still The King. The series premieres Sunday, June 12 at 9pm ET/PT. Cyrus, a writer and executive producer of the series, also stars as “Burnin’ Vernon” Brown, a one-hit wonder turned Elvis-impersonating scoundrel. After a run-in with the law, Brown is sentenced to community service and ends up masquerading as the community’s new preacher, and re-connecting with his old flame, and a daughter he didn’t know about.

Cyrus’ co-stars include Joey Lauren Adams, Leslie David Baker, Lacey Chabert, comedian/actor Kevin Farley and Madison Iseman along with cameos by Randy Travis, Darius Rucker, Wayne Newton, Erik Estrada, John Corbett, and more. View an official trailer for Still The King here.
