Singer-Songwriter and MTV Star Davis Mallory Releases Holiday Single “Box It Up”
(Nashville, Tenn. –November 4, 2016)— Singer-songwriter and Former MTV’s The Real World star Davis Mallory has released a holiday single, “Box It Up.”
The track, co-written with Clayton Jones of Madison Letter and produced by Josh Sudduth of Relient K, is paired with a music video and can be viewed here.
“We filmed in September with the Nashville Film Institute’s Zachary Layman and Blake Guidry in Thompson Station and East Nashville,” said Mallory. “I wrote ‘Box It Up’ just after Christmas, so the theme of wanting the spirit to linger came naturally.”
Mallory came to Nashville in 2013 to focus on his songwriting. In 2014, he released “Beautiful Girls (Diem’s Song),” a tribute to his Real World co-star, Diem Brown, who passed from cancer that year. After Mallory starred on MTV’s The Real World: Denver and other MTV network shows, he took a position as a Music News Host for LOGO TV building playlists and interviewing musicians, which eventually led to a Marketing/A&R role with Astralwerks Records (UMG/Capitol) in New York City.
In addition to earning himself a name as a songwriter and performer, Mallory is a sought after DJ. Having been trained at Dubspot School of Electronic Music in Manhattan, Mallory’s performance credits include appearing at CMA Music Festival (2015), the Anheuser-Busch Awards in the Bahamas (hosted by James Corden), Third Coast Improv Festival, Vanderbilt Homecoming (with Aaron Carter), opening for Victor Calderone at Pacha New York, as well as throughout New York City at nightclubs Santos Party House, The Dream Hotel and Hotel Chantelle. Now residing in Nashville, Tenn., Mallory DJs at major events and holds a residency at Tin Roof and Aerial.
