About the Panelists:
Jake Kaplan: Jake Kaplan is the Operations and Creative Director at 97.1 AMP in LA, Channel Q, and FireLane. His voice can be heard on WBZ in Boston, KUDL in Sacramento, WEZN in Connecticut, and more. He has imaged various stations for CBS Radio and national initiatives. In 2020, Jake was named Imaging/Creative Director of the year by All Access Music Group and was again honored as one of the Benztown Top 50—his sixth time receiving the prestigious award. Jake is originally from Seattle, where he started his radio and career and now resides in Los Angeles.
Chadd Pierce: Chadd Pierce is a Voice Actor and Radio Imaging Producer with 20+ years in the business, has produced for all formats, and projects his inventive personality and observational humor heavily onto his work. Pierce began his career at WBYR-FM in his hometown of Ft Wayne, Indiana in 1998. He crank-called his way to an internship, was trained and let loose on-air and as imaging producer. In 2004, he became Creative Services Director at KRXQ, KSEG, and KWOD in Sacramento. From there, Pierce took a leap of faith and joined a small radio imaging/advertising production house. “It’s where I was exposed to every radio station format, a list of collaborative producers and fellow voice actors. It’s also where I discovered my own ability to manage lots of client stations at once without going cookie-cutter.” Pierce now lives in Raleigh, NC, where he provides VO to dozens of radio and TV stations, syndicated shows and commercials, in addition to producing much of that work.
Matt Warren: At the age of 15, Matt Warren was splicing reel to reel tape, making mix tapes, deconstructing radios and every electronic device he could find in order to discover how they worked. He spent years mastering the craft of Creative Imaging & Sound Design specifically designed for Radio, TV & Film, and in 2010, Gorilla Sound was born. Six years later, Matt had over 30 clients on his roster and realized his dream was much bigger than a one man show. He spent the next 2 years developing friendships, meeting producers, clients and like-minded individuals who share his vision. In 2018 “Team” Gorilla Sound was born.
