“Don’t Make Me Say It” – Available Here
(Nashville, Tenn. – Nov. 12, 2021) Nashville country music singer/songwriter Moriah Domby releases her new single “Don’t Make Me Say It.” Listen to “Don’t Make Me Say It” here.
Recorded and produced with her good friend and Nashville-based country guitarist John Shaw, they were inspired to bring a balance of tension and hope into the track’s production, supporting the vulnerability that makes up “Don’t Make Me Say It.” The song was written by Domby, along with singer/songwriter Jordan Hobson.
Domby speaks on the acoustic-driven track, revealing, “‘Don’t Make Me Say It” is about saying the hard things. When we sat down to write it, we talked about how hard it can be to tell someone you love them for the first time even when it’s exciting or to tell someone you’re sorry sometimes or that things aren’t working out. Whether it’s good or bad, sometimes those really big things in life feel so heavy or scary to say, you just wish the other person could read your mind so you don’t have to say it alone. Over this last year or so, I have had a lot of those moments where I wished I didn’t have to say the words but I knew I needed to. So, I just hope anyone listening would feel understood.’
Hailing from Oregon, Domby relocated to Nashville, where she earned a Music Business degree from MTSU and worked in music publishing before striking out on her own to focus solely on her passion for writing and performing. She has made appearances at legendary stages across the country, including the Bluebird Café, Eddies Attic, and Room 5 LA. After a broadcast premiere on The Heartland Network, Domby’s music video for “Could’ve Tried” sparked recognition and has since maintained a steady rotation internationally.
Most recently, Moriah started a tee-shirt shop called Rose & Magnolia, inspired by her hometown out west and her roots down south. Domby anticipates adding several shirts into the new year to benefit causes close to her heart, such as cancer research. Her goal with the designs is to spark joy in others, much like her music. She will also be releasing an acoustic Christmas song at the beginning of December. While she continues to lead worship at a local church in Nashville, Domby looks forward to getting back on the road next year, including her first trip to play overseas in England.
Domby offers the country music world a breath of fresh air, not only as a captivating artist herself but also penning tracks for many other artists. This last year, she took time to focus on her family as they faced a challenging diagnosis. Domby used this time to reflect, reprioritize, grow, and ultimately reignite her passion for storytelling.
