Jonathan Roy Achieves International Success and Acclaimed Album Launch; Announces Highly-Anticipated Performance at Marquis Theater

Jonathan Roy

(Denver, Colorado – April 10, 2025) – Independent artist Jonathan Roy, whose global rise has captivated audiences from YouTube to stages across Europe, is set to make his long-awaited hometown debut at Denver’s Marquis Theater on April 18. The performance follows a run of sold-out U.S. shows and the critically praised release of his latest album, Symphony of Doubts.

With over 438,000 monthly listeners on Spotify, more than 500,000 YouTube subscribers, and nearly 300 million total views on YouTube, Roy has built a fiercely loyal international fanbase—all without the backing of a major label. His raw, emotive performances and one-take live videos have contributed significantly to this impressive viewership.

Born in Montreal and raised in Denver after his father, NHL Hall of Fame goaltender Patrick Roy, was traded to the Colorado Avalanche in the mid-90s, Jonathan Roy’s upcoming show at the Marquis Theater represents a full-circle moment. Returning to the city where he spent his formative years, he steps onto the stage not as the potential hockey protégé but as a seasoned artist with a story of reinvention, resilience, and authenticity. His musical journey began unexpectedly at 18 when, with his father’s blessing, he chose a different path, saying, “It’s ok Dad, I want to be a musician.”

After an early stint with Warner Music Canada under the mentorship of pop icon Corey Hart, Jonathan took a leap of faith. He sold everything he owned, bought a beat-up RV, and traveled across the U.S. and Mexico — a soul-searching adventure that led to the songs Keeping Me Alive, Lost, and eventually his 2021 breakout album My Lullaby, released during the height of the pandemic.

Roy is currently supporting acclaimed Japanese indie rock band Hitsujibungaku on select U.S. dates, including:

  • April 10 – House of Blues, San Diego
  • April 13 – Echoplex, Los Angeles (SOLD OUT)
  • April 14 – August Hall, San Francisco (SOLD OUT)
  • April 16 – Mississippi Studios, Portland

These performances come on the heels of Symphony of Doubts, produced by Connor Seidel (Half Moon Run, Charlotte Cardin) and recorded at The Tree House in Montreal. The album is a bold, soul-searching work that Roy calls “a culmination of creativity, authenticity, and the emotional journey I’ve been on. It’s about accepting doubt, embracing freedom, and finding love — both within ourselves and with others.”

Last year, Jonathan’s 19-country European tour solidified his standing as a breakout global artist. With Symphony of Doubts, he’s raising the bar once again.

As he prepares to perform in Denver for the first time with his full band, the show carries personal meaning — a return to the city where he spent his formative years.

Tickets for Jonathan Roy at The Marquis on April 18 are on sale now and available for purchase here.
