Alannah McCready Unveils Raw New Single “Human” – Out Now!

Alannah McCready

An unfiltered reflection on struggle, vulnerability, and our shared humanity

(Nashville, Tennessee – February 20, 2026) – Rising singer-songwriter Alannah McCready releases her powerful new single “Human,” offering a raw and deeply honest look at the quiet battles people fight behind closed doors. “Human” is available now across all streaming platforms here.

“Human” explores the struggle of carrying pain in silence while maintaining an outward sense of strength. Inspired by the idea that “you never know what someone is actually going through,” the song reflects on the pressure to appear okay even when life feels overwhelming. Through candid lyrics and emotional intensity, McCready reminds listeners that hardship is universal and vulnerability is what ultimately connects us all.

“It can be hard to express how you’re truly feeling when it’s not all sunshine and rainbows,” McCready shares. “Sometimes life is just hard, and it takes everything you have to get through certain moments. Remembering that is what connects us and reminds us that we’re only human.”

Marking a notable departure from her previous releases, “Human” is McCready’s most unfiltered song to date. The track leans into angst and emotional grit, even incorporating language she’s never used in her music before – an intentional choice driven by authenticity.

“I’ve been through a lot in the past few years, and this song came from realizing that if I’m hiding how I truly feel, then others who are going through even worse are probably doing the same just to survive,” she says. “It’s okay to admit that things are hard and to open up… to friends, family, or even strangers. At the end of the day, we’re all in this together.”

“Human” was written by Alannah McCready, Emily Vaughn, Austin Cannon, Caroline Kudelko, and Manon Ward, and produced by Austin Cannon. The song was recorded in Nashville, Tennessee, and showcases McCready’s continued growth as an artist unafraid to lean into honesty and emotional depth. With “Human,” McCready offers more than just a song; she delivers a reminder that strength and struggle often coexist, and that there is power in being seen as we truly are.

Originally hailing from Minneapolis, Minnesota, McCready found a love and passion for music at a very young age. After attending the University of Madison in Wisconsin, where she received a full athletic scholarship for women’s hockey, her calling for music eventually led her to hang up the skates and dust off the cowboy boots.

McCready has since developed her skills as a songwriter and performer in Nashville, having played notable local venues such as the Twelve Thirty Club, Whiskey Jam, Nashville Underground, and more, with recurring residencies at Barstool Nashville, Tin Roof Broadway, and Tin Roof Nashville. She has also opened for acclaimed artists like Jordan Davis, Tyler Rich, Dan + Shay, Michael Ray, Collective Soul, and more. Her can-do attitude and confidence drive her music while bringing creativity and a healthy dose of fun to her craft. McCready is set to announce more new music in 2026.
