Cash narrates the troubled love story through her raw lyrics: He’s gone on his path Forgotten their love But she still feels the sting Of what was undone Cash shares her excitement about the project, “’Broken Roses’ has been very close to my heart for a long time and I’m so happy to be releasing it into the world today,” she says, “I’ve had close friends personally affected by mental health issues and I hope that the music video brings purpose and creates a sense of hope to those who may be suffering.” In addition to the release of “Broken Roses,” Cash will be a VIP Guest on the Change Direction Jam: A Global Conversation on Mental Heath taking place Oct. 10-11. The Campaign to Change Direction is a national initiative focused on changing the culture of mental health. “To be invited as a VIP to the Change Direction Jam is an honor,” Ana says of the mental health organization, where she will contribute to the online discussion about eliminating mental health stigma. “My hope was for “Broken Roses” to promote conversation about mental health and now with the help of Change Direction I know it will have a stronger impact, reach more people, and touch more lives through the power of conversation. I’m so grateful to Change Direction for allowing me to be a part of such an instrumental event.” Cash was invited to participate by Randy Phelps, PhD, CEO of Give an Hour, the parent organization of the Campaign to Change Direction. “Music has a unique role for those who are experiencing emotional suffering and for the process of healing and recovery. We are excited to work with Ana Cristina Cash,” Dr. Phelps shares his enthusiasm, “The contributions and the passion of musicians has been a vital component of our effort to change the culture of mental health in America and bring these conversations to a larger audience. Join Ana in the conversation on Oct. 10 at 1:30pm CST, and register to the Change Direction Jam HERE. Recorded in the Cash Cabin Studio in Hendersonville, Tenn., Cash plans to release a full-length album, SHINE, early next year. Last year, the singer-songwriter released a holiday album titled, My Christmas Collection, produced by her husband John Carter Cash. The compilation features everything from a captivating bilingual track, “Silent Night (Noche de Paz)” that showcases Cash’s rich voice, outstanding harmonies and Hispanic American heritage to a heart-warming duet, “Baby It’s Cold Outside,” with John Carter Cash. Ana Cristina Cash was raised in Miami, Florida. Cash, of Cuban descent, is bi-lingual and began a professional career in music at the tender age of six. She quickly became an accomplished champion of the singing competitions on the variety show, “Sabado Gigante.” Cash’s recordings showcase her broad vocal range, from a deep resonating contralto to an amazing soaring soprano, revealing what is known to some as a “whistle register.” Cash signed to Sony Music’s Latin division at the age of 15 and recorded her debut album Ana Cristina in the Spanish language. Cash went on to be the first Hispanic American to perform the “Star Spangled Banner” for a presidential inauguration for President Bush in 2005. In 2016, Cash married music producer, John Carter Cash, and has since been writing and recording the music she was born to sing. Cash’s music perfectly blends her connection with rockabilly and gritty blues, adding in a flavor of country and soul to create her own distinctive sound.
