The Bushwackers, Hillbilly Killers, Paul Kelly, Mustered Courage, and Melody Pool are all scheduled to perform
(Nashville, Tenn. – Aug. 13, 2013) More than twenty Australian roots music artists will travel to Nashville, Tennessee to perform at the 14th annual Americana Music Festival and Conference, held Sept. 18-22.
This year’s lineup of official Aussie artists includes The Bushwackers, The Hillbilly Killers, Paul Kelly, Mustered Courage and Melody Pool. The official festival showcases and late night performances are scheduled throughout what is known in Nashville as “Americana Week.”
“As far as music goes, Nashville is one of the best cities in the world and as far as festivals go, Americana Festival is the best I’ve ever seen,” said Catherine Britt of the Hillbilly Killers. “I can’t wait to return to an inspiring city and to such an awesome festival. Bring on the good music I say!”
“In a 40-year career, we’ve been lucky enough to play in some of the world’s greatest music cities,” Dobe Newton with the Bushwackers said. “We’ve saved the best ’til last! My fifth involvement in Americanafest is going to be very, very special.”
Additional Aussie artists set to appear at this year’s festival include: Bill Chambers, The Borderers, Breaking Hart Benton, Katie Brianna, Gena Rose Bruce, Tracey Bunn, Donna Dean, Melody Feder & Michael Muchow, Sam Hawksley, Damian Howard, Anne McCue, Kelly Menhennett, Cameron Milford, Jen Mize, Tamara Stewart, Emma Swift and The Weeping Willows.
The 2013 Americana Music Festival marks the fourth consecutive trip to Nashville by Sounds Australia, a government-supported music industry organization dedicated to spreading the music of Australia abroad. Since 2010, Sounds Australia has maintained a strategic partnership with the Nashville-based Americana Music Association that promotes the exchange of American and Australian music between the two countries. Sounds Australia produces an additional suite of networking and showcasing events for Australian artists attending, including THE AUSSIE BBQ.
