Proceeds to help provide celebrity entertainment to deployed troops overseas
(Nashville, Tenn. – October 9, 2013) – Stars for Stripes was the recent beneficiary of a promise made good by RCA Records artist Chris Young, who raised over $35,000 for the non-profit organization, fulfilling a fundraising promise made to his fan club members at a party in June 2012.
Young closed out the campaign for the non-profit Stars for Stripes, which provides celebrity entertainment for U.S. troops overseas, with a sold out show on September 30 from House of Blues in L.A.. The money raised from his campaign has already supplemented 2012-2013 celebrity tours to the Pacific Rim, Europe and Afghanistan.
Young became involved with Stars for Stripes in 2009 when he toured military bases in Iraq and Kuwait with fellow country artist, Craig Morgan. The trip was documented for a Great American Country (GAC) television special called, “Stars for Stripes – Wounded Warriors Return.” In 2010, Young became a member of the Stars for Stripes Board of Directors and went on his second overseas tour once again to Iraq and Kuwait through the program in 2011.
“Chris has been a wonderful addition to the SFS Board of Directors,” said Judy Seale, President of Judy Seale International and Stars For Stripes. “As someone who has been overseas to entertain troops in a combat zone, he realizes how important celebrity visits are to the morale of our military stationed abroad. He has been an amazing ‘Ambassdor’ for Stars for Stripes and a tireless supporter of our military men and women.”

A Tennessee native, Chris Young recently released his fourth album, A.M., along with his current hit single, “Aw Naw.” To date, Chris has catalogued five number one singles along with multiple Grammy, ACM and CMA nominations. This summer, Entertainment Weekly named Chris one of summer’s top tour openers. He is touring this fall with Country superstar, Brad Paisley.
