(Nashville, Tenn. – March 19, 2015) – Southeast Colorado native Clare Dunn is currently appearing as the opening act for American rock icon Bob Seger on select shows throughout his nationwide Ride Out Tour, including shows in Kansas City, MO on March 20 and Nashville, TN on March 28. Dunn’s upcoming appearances are in addition to several sold-out shows she appeared on during the tour earlier this year, which all delivered standing-ovations.
In a recent concert review published by The Daily Herald in Salt Lake City, UT, reporter Doug Fox commented about Dunn’s performance saying, “Her enthusiasm and talent made me wonder if this little old farmgirl from eastern Colorado — as she described herself — somehow had experienced a ‘Freaky Friday’ transformation with Bonnie Raitt. She was that good.” He continued, “It’s a rare occurrence these days when an opening act can come so completely out of nowhere and yet so convincingly win an audience over. Well played, Dunn. Well played.”
2015 has already proven to be a great year for Dunn— in addition to opening for Seger on his 2015 tour, she also topped “Artists to Watch in 2015” lists for USA Today, Billboard, The Boston Globe, Taste of Country, Roughstock and Whiskey Riff, and was named one of 2015’s Next Big Things by MusicRow Magazine.
Last year, Dunn was named the highest charting independent female artist on the Music Row Country Breakout chart in 10 years. Shortly after, she was featured on the cover of USA Today.
Dunn has already opened up for some of the format’s biggest acts, including Luke Bryan, Keith Urban, Florida Georgia Line, Dierks Bentley, Randy Houser, Hank Jr., Jamey Johnson and many others. In addition to establishing herself as a performer, Dunn is earning a name within the songwriting community. She has written with some of the most highly regarded songwriters in Nashville and LA, including Hillary Lindsey, Blair Daly, Liz Rose, Angelo, Terry McBride, Brice Long, Will Hoge and more. She has also contributed background vocals to some of Nashville’s finest, including Luke Bryan’s smash “Country Girl (Shake It For Me).”
Dunn is a fearless performer and guitar player whose music possesses a unique blend of country and rock. Born on a farm in Southeast Colorado and raised in Two Buttes, CO, she grew up driving silage trucks, combines and eighteen-wheelers, and spent countless hours behind the wheel of a John Deere tractor. The young performer paid her way through Belmont University by driving trucks for harvest through Oklahoma, Kansas and Nebraska during every academic break she could. During this time, she also picked up a guitar for the first time. Determined to master both acoustic and electric guitars, she now plays the lead in all of her original music. Her hard work paid off and now Dunn spends her time on stage performing packed shows all across the country.
This past November, Dunn signed with Universal Music Group Nashville and has since been working on her debut album.
