The chart-topping vocalist is currently staying busy writing and recording her next album, but also dedicates a substantial amount of time to her position as chairman of the board at Middle Tennessee wildlife rehabilitation center, Walden’s Puddle.
“The time I spend between my recording career and Walden’s Puddle is pretty evenly split, though I don’t really consider either one a ‘career’ in a conventional sense,” says Brody. “My music and my love for all of God’s creatures are a large component of who I am.”
“Flame’s Turned Blue” is the most recent single from Brody’s 2010 release, On the Wings of Songs, available at www.GMVNashville.com. Written and produced by Lane, the song effectively combines her musical talents with her environmentalist sensibilities. The video was shot in Australia and serves as a wake-up call to mankind about the troubling issues plaguing our planet.
“Flame’s Turned Blue” (view here) is particularly relevant as Earth Day approaches on April 22, with several video outlets and environmental blogs including it in their Earth Day promotions.
“We should be guardians of all life and everything that sustains life,” says Brody. “Doing the right thing always matters.”
On May 5, 2011, Brody is celebrating the official opening of the Walden’s Puddle Wildlife Education Center, housed at The Fontanel Mansion in Whites Creek, Tenn. The event, billed as Walden’s Puddle “Cinco de Mayo Fiesta,” will feature performances from artists Lynn Anderson, Kathie Baillie, Brody, Cerrito, Bobby Marquez and a number of special guests.
