Rebel in the South Out Now On All Streaming Platforms – Listen Here
(Nashville, Tenn.– June 24, 2022) Creed Fisher is calling out Music Row, trends, and Pop Country with a new music video and single, “Nashville,” – out now. Filmed in Music City along the pedestrian bridge and in a hole-in-the-wall bar, Fisher makes a stance for outlaw country with the new release. “Nashville” is the focus track for Fisher’s album, Rebel in the South, which is out today. Written by Jared Hill and Michael McGregor, “Nashville” embodies Fisher and others’ opinions and feelings toward the way the music industry has grown to glorify sellouts and has ventured away from artists who work their way up performing honky-tonks for love of a lyric and a dream. The lyrics praise the original outlaws of country music, George Strait, Merle Haggard, George Jones, and recalls how these artists’ outlaw tendencies helped them rise to the Opry’s bright lights. A message Fisher stands behind and knows too well, he made the single the focus track of his new album, Rebel in the South because he knew the song was destined to be special.
Fisher speaks on the single and filming the music video with sincerity, “’Nashville’ is a song about the simple things and times in life. It’s about real country music, doing things your own way, and not losing sight of that… The song is a statement that sums up my career and the battles I have faced over the years doing Outlaw Country, making music my way not the new modern Pop Country sound that Nashville loves so much. As the chorus states, ‘The bright lights in Nashville ain’t what I want’ and they never will be.”
This music video follows the release of two other music videos off his Rebel in the South album “Earplugs and Beer,”and “Cuz I’m Country.” Fisher is currently on tour with his last album release, Whiskey and the Dog, and in the studio recording his next project. With over 37.3 million combined streams on Spotify and over 43.7 million views on YouTube with past releases, Fisher takes his career a step further with Rebel in the South.
Rebel in the South follows a year of celebrations for Creed Fisher. He started 2021 off strong with a new partnership signing with Dirt Rock Empire, winning a Texas Country Music Award for Alternative / Roots Artist of the Year, and experienced success with several songs on Texas Radio.
