Details surrounding four Mentoring Breakfasts are announced
(Nashville, Tenn. – Feb. 13, 2017) The agenda continues to expand for Country Radio Seminar 2017, to be held Feb. 22-24. New additions in the areas of digital/tech and career enhancement have been added, and are “Speeding Towards Tomorrow: Programming & Branding in a Mobile World,” “The Digital Revenue Explosion,” “Lace Up Your Boots and Get in the Trenches with Social Platforms,” You Are More Valuable Than You Think,” “Women Empowering Women,” and “Cultivating the Farm Team: Sources of New Talent.”
Additionally, Country Radio Seminar will once again host the popular mentoring breakfasts— Digital and Tech Breakfast, Programming Mentoring Breakfast (sponsored by Sun Broadcasting), Sales Mentoring Breakfast, and Women’s Mentoring Breakfast (sponsored by NuVoodoo Media Services).
The Programming Mentoring Breakfast, sponsored by Sun Broadcast Group, will be held on Thursday, Feb. 23, from 8 to 9 a.m. This breakfast gives attendees the opportunity to learn and pose questions to the most experienced PDs and consultants in the business. The facilitator is Bruce Logan of CBS Radio Houston. Congruently taking place, guests may also choose to attend the Sales Mentoring Breakfast Thursday morning starting at 8 a.m. This breakfast will provide participants the chance to directly interact and engage with several knowledgeable mentors regarding radio sales and how to maximize sale efforts. The sole purpose of the Women’s Mentoring Breakfast, sponsored by NuVoodoo Media Services, scheduled for Friday, Feb. 24, at 7: 30 a.m., is to provide women with the opportunity to meet, greet and eat with the industry’s most inspiring and accomplished women of today and to create meaningful connections in radio and records. There will also be a Digital & Tech Breakfast on Friday, Feb. 24 at 8 a.m. This session will touch on the newest innovations as well as challenges of today’s radio in a world that is so digitally and technologically advanced and dependent. The success of campaigns and the challenges faced throughout them will be explored during this panel. Discussion facilitators are Malika Quemerais of Facebook, Gloria Stitt of Shareablee, Mike Newman of BubbleUp, and Michael Shoup of 12 South Music.
New this year, scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 23 at 4 p.m. in the Westwood Networking Lounge (Legends Terrace), is “On-Air Talent Mentoring Happy Hour” that encourages attendees to mingle with on-air talent, managers and programmers alike in regards to finding talent, digital advice, and promotional guidance. Mentors will be Lon Helton, Country Countdown USA; Kelly Ford, NASH FM; Danny Dwyer, The Bull/Portland; Skip Mahaffey, KPLX/Dallas; Big Sue, K97/Memphis; Kim Leslie, WJXA/Nashville.
