Deadline to submit entries is this Saturday, April 7
(Nashville, Tenn. – April 5, 2012) In less than three months, Deborah Allen’s Amazing Graceland Contest has generated more than 10,000 entries from Elvis fans around the country hoping to win an all-expense paid trip to Elvis Week 2012.
The contest, which invites fans to submit their memories about Elvis and Graceland at www.AmazingGracelandContest.com, ends this Saturday, April 7. Allen will announce the winner on Friday, April 13, during George Klein’s “Elvis Hour” radio show on Sirius XM. Since the contest began on Jan. 8, Allen has appeared on the program numerous times to read some of the thousands of entries she has received online and through the mail.
“The response to our ‘Amazing Graceland’ contest has exceeded all of our expectations,” says Allen. “It just goes to show you how timeless and iconic Elvis Presley remains in this country and in our culture. As a Memphis native, I am a devoted Elvis fan, and it was his spirit that moved me to write “Amazing Graceland.” I never thought it would take on a life of its own the way it has, though! The number of letters and emails we’ve received just floors me!”
Allen wrote “Amazing Graceland” after visiting Elvis’ famed Graceland mansion in 2009. The powerful tribute song is the opening track on her 2011 Delta Rock Records release, Hear Me Now, and has become one of the multi-talented singer’s favorite songs to perform live. The Amazing Graceland Contest grand prize winner and a guest will receive roundtrip airfare and three night’s hotel accommodations, admission to select Elvis Week 35th anniversary events and attractions in Memphis (Aug. 15-17 only), an autographed copy of Allen’s latest album, Hear Me Now, and a special meet-and-greet and dinner with the Grammy-nominated performer. Elvis Week 2012 is held Aug. 10-18, 2012.
