Wins 2014 CMT Music Video of the Year Award for Carrie Underwood’s “See You Again” and Receives Three Dove Award Nominations

As this summer comes to a close, Welch’s work has also garnered three 2014 Dove Award nominations for Short Form Music Video of the Year. The nominations include directing Toby Mac’s “Speak Life,” “Never Gone,” byAmerican Idol’s Colton Dixon and Mandisa’s “Overcomer,” featuring Good Morning America’s Robin Roberts, Congresswoman Gabby Giffords, Olympic Gold Medalist Scott Hamilton and Biggest Loser Winner Hannah Curlee.

Prior to moving to Nashville, Welch, a Southwest Kansas native, worked in advertising and originally broke into the music world when editing DC Talk’s live concert video “Welcome to the Freakshow.” While wrapping the project, Welch formed Broken Poet Productions and based his company in Nashville, where he worked with artists including Brad Paisley, TobyMac, Randy Houser, Vince Gill, Rodney Crowell, MercyMe, Dolly Parton and Lady Antebellum.
Welch brings a creative eye to music videos, commercials and photography, as well as live broadcast programs such CMT Crossroads with Zac Brown and Jimmy Buffet, CMT Invitation Only with Tim McGraw, and three consecutive years of directing GACs ACM New Artist Showcase.
