(Nashville, Tenn. — December 16, 2016) — firekid has joined the line-up of performing talent set to appear at 12th & Porter (114 12th Ave. North) on January 19, 2017.
The public show, which is presented by the newly announced marketing/management company, DME Entertainment Group, will open doors at 6:30 p.m. and admission is free. firekid will follow performances by DME Ent. Group artists, Larry Gordon (Curb Records) and indie pop artist Aprilann.
firekid is the alter ego of virtuoso guitarist and singer-songwriter, Dillon Hodges. A child prodigy at guitar, firekid won the National Guitar Championship at the age of 17, the second youngest contestant to win in the competition’s history. Originally from Muscle Shoals, AL, firekid’s self-titled debut album combines his bluegrass roots with a big band sound.
Larry Gordon came to the attention of Mike Curb, Chairman of Curb Records, who immediately signed him to a record and publishing deal. Gordon has commercial success as a songwriter with “MVP” on Love & Hip Hop (LA and NY), “End of the World” from Yoga Hosers starring Johnny Depp and Hoovey (on Netflix). Additionally, he performs frequently with his father – GRAMMY-nominee Dr. Larry T-Byrd Gordon’s Orchestra/Show band where he has been featured since the age of four.
A graduate from the New York Conservatory of Dramatic Arts, Aprilann is both a singer-songwriter and actress. Her independent single, “Crown and the Girls,” produced by Arty Skye from SkyeLab Music, continues to generate buzz digitally. She has a starring role in her first feature film, Johnny Gruesome, set for release in September 2017.
