Esposito to Accept Award at the Inaugural Event on June 6
(Nashville, Tenn. – May 11, 2017) – The Innovation in Music Awards is proud to announce the recipient of its most coveted award, Innovator of the Year, is Warner Music Nashville’s Chairman and CEO, John Esposito. Esposito will accept the award during the inaugural event on June 6th, to be held at The Westin in Nashville, Tenn.
The Innovator of the Year Award recognizes the music professional who goes above and beyond his call of duty in search of the best new music, breakthrough innovative initiatives, and up-and-coming talent. John Esposito’s prosperous career exemplifies his commitment to the betterment and future of the music industry. His restructuring and realignment of the label’s resources to put a more centralized focus on the label’s digital initiatives personifies him as an industry innovator.
Under Esposito’s leadership, WMN artists have won numerous awards spanning from New Artist of the Year to Entertainer of the Year from organizations such as the Country Music Association, Academy of Country Music, American Music Awards and more. Since his arrival, WME singles charts’ share has quadrupled, with 41 singles hitting No. 1, leading to multiple Gold and Platinum sales certifications.
As an innovator, Esposito recently had a vision for a new future-facing marketing structure by creating a first of its kind Radio & Streaming team. The groundbreaking approach combines the more traditionally specific radio promotion and digital music departments.
As former Chairman of the Country Music Association Board of Directors, his current board duties include Vice Chairman of the T.J. Martell Foundation National Board, the Country Radio Broadcasters and the Nashville Convention & Visitor’s Corp as well as Governor to the Nashville Chapter Board of NARAS for 2015-2017.
Esposito is also an accomplished guitarist, drummer and an avid environmentalist. In 2006, he spearheaded WMG’s environmental campaign, WMGreen, for which he was awarded the Natural Resources Defense Council’s (NRDC) “Forces for Nature” honor. Currently, he serves on the Natural Resources Defense Council’s (NRDC) Global Leadership Council, the Air Service Coalition’s advisory board, and the Livable Nashville Committee, which works to improve the livability, sustainability and health of the city.
About the Innovation in Music Awards: Designed to celebrate those who have played a critical role in the development and advancement of the ever-changing music industry, the inaugural Innovation in Music Awards is scheduled for Tuesday, June 6 at the The Westin in Nashville, Tenn. The awards ceremony will recognize a number of industry leaders who are distinguished in the discovery and innovative strategy of driving forward the direction of today’s music landscape. The awards ceremony will consist of acceptance speeches from the evening’s honorees, four musical performances, and a short-form talk from an industry representative considered to be a bright, forward-thinker.
