July Moon Releases New Single “What A Woman Should Be” – Listen Here

July Moon

The Title Track of Their Upcoming EP, Marking the Next Chapter in Their Rising Journey

(Nashville, Tennessee — July 11, 2025) Nashville-based trio July Moon (Piper Bateman, Page Mackenzie, and Braelyn Watt) has released their bold new single, “What A Woman Should Be,” via Virgin/Living Proof Recordz. Produced by Clint Wells and recorded at The Smoakstack in Berry Hill, Tennessee, the track marks the beginning of a new era in the trio’s sound and storytelling. It is available to stream everywhere here.

Written by Braelyn Watt, Cassidy Daniels, and Julie Williams, “What A Woman Should Be” speaks to the pressures women face to conform, from marriage timelines and career choices to outdated double standards. With lyrics like “Stop asking when I’m getting married / ‘Cause I ain’t ready just yet” and “They can’t make up their minds and they get mad when I can’t make up mine,” July Moon reminds listeners that every woman’s path is her own to choose.

“‘What A Woman Should Be’ is our anthem that challenges the conflicting and outdated expectations placed on women,” says the band. “We like to joke and say it’s about the one half of our family who’s asking us when we’re going to get married and/or have babies, and the other half who’s asking us when we’re going to win a Grammy — but sometimes they forget to ask what we actually want! We’re just trying our best, and trying to do it all.”

The track blends July Moon’s signature “Fleetwood Country” style, a seamless mix of country, rock, and pop, with bold harmonies and electrifying energy. “Clint Wells, our new producer, has played such a key role in helping us hone this new sound, and we are so grateful to work with him!” the trio adds.

Since forming in 2021, July Moon has garnered attention nationwide with their debut EP, high-profile tours alongside artists like Tyler Farr and Josh Ross, and festival performances at events including Darius Rucker’s Riverfront Revival. Their recent single “The Highway” has already become a fan favorite, and their upcoming European tour in 2025 promises to expand their reach even further.

“What A Woman Should Be” will also serve as the title track of their forthcoming EP set for release this fall.
