North Carolina native marks first release with racecar sponsorship at nationally televised ARCA race
(Nashville, Tenn. – June 22, 2011) SwanGate Records recording artist Lacy Green is officially ready “For The Summertime” with her debut single, out at Country radio now.
Green’s “For The Summertime” is a breezy, bluegrass-tinged Country track that reflects the young singer’s upbringing in the small town of Pilot Mountain, North Carolina. Green recorded the song while finishing college this spring at UNC-Chapel Hill. “For The Summertime” was produced by renowned singer, songwriter and producer Ronnie Bowman and written by Heather Lynn Morgan and David Thomson.
“I loved this song the minute I heard it because it immediately painted this familiar portrait of the summertime and growing up in North Carolina. I think the imagery in the lyrics is beautiful, and I hope that other people can relate to it as well,” says Green. “When we started playing the new songs at our live shows, ‘For The Summertime’ was always one of the ones that people – young or old – loved to hear, and the timing to release it now couldn’t be more perfect.”
To help kick off the promotion behind its release, the “For the Summertime” single artwork was featured on one of the cars at the ARCA Pocono 200 race on June 11. Up and coming rookie driver Brennan Poole drove Venturini Motorsports’ No. 25 Toyota during the event, prominently displaying the artwork on the hood of the car. Poole finished fifth in the race, televised nationally on the SPEED Channel.
Green is currently embarking on a national radio tour in support of “For The Summertime.” In between visits to stations, Green continues to work on her debut album for SwanGate Records, due out later this year.
