“Prove Me Wrong” Debuted on Blu’s Most Recent Release Country Punk EP, Released on 12/31
(Nashville, Tenn.– Jan. 14, 2022) Manny Blu has released the first official music video from his latest release Country Punk EP, “Prove Me Wrong.” An animated visual performance, “Prove Me Wrong,” is available here.
A song of firsts, “Prove Me Wrong,” is the first breakup song that Blu has added to his catalog and the first music video that Blu has had his hand in directing. Produced by Wingman Productions and directed by Blu himself, the music video envelops fans into the storyline of Country Punk EP as it expresses the emotions of a breakup anthem through a live performance video. Overall, the video creates a statement by utilizing strobe lights and vibrant colors to depict the electric energy of heartbreak and angst.
“Prove Me Wrong” is one of the heavier songs on the EP, and it’s a tough take on a breakup song. Blu describes how the video and lyrics feed off each other, “The vision of the video was to make it feel like chaos accompanied by colorful lighting. I felt like a performance video would capture my feelings towards the song best. It went together pretty well.”
Blu kicked off 2022 with the release of Country Punk EP. The five-track project brings his vision for Country Punk full circle with hard-hitting instrumentation and lyrics that express raw emotions. Along with the release of his EP, Blu also announced that he will be joining Dallas Smith on his ‘Some Things Never Change’ tour in Canada starting May 24. Others on that tour include James Barker Band, Shawn Austin, Meghan Patrick, Kelly Prescott, and JoJo Mason.
2021 was a monumental year for Manny Blu as he started to establish himself as a global artist with listeners in 128 countries. He released two EPs – Country Punk EP and DEViL. Blu gained momentum in the first half of the year with the release of his third EP, DEViL – a tracklist that uses his Country Punk attitude to express testaments of love and explain where he is at in his life right now. The EP featured hit songwriters Michael Hardy, Ryan Hurd, Craig Wiseman, Ryan Beaver, and more. Since its release, Blu has been described as “Aldean meets Eddie Van Halen” (Lyric Magazine), and his tracks have garnered massive attention. “Train” (HERE) reached 1M+ streams. The official music video for “Might As Well Lead” (HERE) was broadcast on CMT, Nashville Country TV, CMC Country, and more.
“Valet” received rave reviews as it showcased Blu’s falsetto and ended up on several playlists including, but not limited to the following: Apple’s New in Country, Country Risers, Canada’s Country; Tidal’s Country Waves, Now Playing Nashville, UpStar Music; and Spotify’s New Music Nashville. That single also made Blu the face of Apple Music’s Canada’s Country playlist the week of its release. “Circle Up,” featuring Blaine Holcomb, brought out more of Manny Blu’s rocker side, and lastly, “Rusty Things” debuted with the album and appeared as a special performance for Blu on his Live & Turned Up Series (HERE).
Throughout 2021, Blu’s social footprint on TikTok has grown to a record of 2.5M+ and his YouTube series, which includes his Live & Turned Up concert series, has a record of 1M+ views. Fans can experience Blu’s performance skills by watching the Live & Turned Up concert series here. To date, he has filmed two Live & Turned Up series, which included performance combinations of his own catalog and covers. Blu introduced his sound first in his 2019 EP Leave It Like It Is and his follow-up EP release, New Ink, which involved major songwriters Josh Osborne, Ross Copperman, and Rhett Atkins. Despite the difficulties that all artists faced in 2020, it was also a landmark year for Manny Blu as he continued to make himself seen in the country music community. The promising artist expanded his team to an international level through added representation in the US and the UK.
