Nashville Symphony Spotlights Upcoming July and August Events

June 30, July 1 & July 2: Ben Folds with Nashville Symphony
One of Music City’s most beloved and world-renowned artists, Ben Folds will return to the Nashville Symphony to close the 2021/22 FirstBank Pops Series. This singer, songwriter, pianist and dynamic performer will bring his impeccable musicianship, wry humor and an unparalleled knack for pop songcraft. Folds has been hailed as “a wonder to watch” (Vibes) and “a consummate musician” (Uncut). July 6: Guster with the Nashville Symphony
The Boston alt-rock band Guster joins forces with the Nashville Symphony to bring their winsome melodies, soaring hooks, and tight songcraft to the concert hall with a career-spanning set. MORE INFO + TICKETS
July 8-10: Toy Story in Concert with Nashville Symphony

July 17: Sing-A-Long-A Sound of Music
It’s a fun-filled interactive screening of the movie classic The Sound of Music! Lose yourself in the moment as you sing and dance along with beloved Rogers and Hammerstein tunes including “Do-Re-Mi,” “My Favorite Things,” “Maria,” “Climb Ev’ry Mountain” and more. Come in costume, engage with the actors onscreen, and join the rest of the audience in a special parade. Each ticket comes with a goodie bag of treats to prepare you for major audience participation. July 29: The Righteous Brothers
Join Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Bill Medley and his new partner Bucky Heard as they take you on a nostalgic journey through the legendary musical stylings of one of the greatest duos of all time. The concert experience features their biggest hits, including “You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feelin’,” “Soul and Inspiration,” “Unchained Melody,” “Rock and Roll Heaven,” Medley’s Grammy-winning Dirty Dancing theme “The Time of My Life,” and much, much more! July 30: Spirits of Summer
Presented by the Nashville Symphony’s young professionals group Crescendo Club, Spirits of Summer is a curated evening pairing the Nashville Symphony with a craft cocktail competition featuring mixologists from some of the most popular bars and restaurants in Nashville. This year’s theme is “Exploring America,” with Principal Pops Enrico Lopez-Yañez leading the orchestra. MORE INFO + TICKETS
August 5: Grand Funk Railroad
Featuring original members Don Brewer and Mel Schacher, along with Max Carl (formerly of 38 Special), Bruce Kulick (formerly of KISS), and Tim Cashion (formerly of Bob Seger), the legendary top-selling American rock group of the 1970s will deliver their signature sound of soulful vocals, hard-driving guitars, and unforgettable tunes. August 16: The Robert Cray Band
Over the past four decades, Robert Cray has created a sound that rises from American roots, blues, soul and R&B, with five GRAMMY® wins, 20 acclaimed studio albums and a bundle of live albums that punctuate the Blues Hall of Famer’s career. His latest album, That’s What I Heard, is described by Cray as “Funky, cool and bad.” Cray’s band features Richard Cousins (bass), Dover Weinberg (keyboards), Terence F. August 26: Little River Band
The Little River Band returns to the Schermerhorn following their last sold-out performance. Reminisce and enjoy an evening with this iconic group still going strong after four decades. Little River Band’s timeless ’70s and ’80s hits include “Reminiscing,” “Help Is on Its Way,” “Cool Change,” “Lonesome Loser,” “Take It Easy on Me” and “Lady. Presented without the Nashville Symphony.
