Q: Tell us about your path to Nashville and working at AristoMedia.
I was born and raised in Nashville, Tenn. I attended Belmont University where I pursued an education in Business Administration with an emphasis in marketing. I started working at The AristoMedia Group in 2003 when I started splitting my time between work and school, serving as an assistant for the PR department. I currently oversee the department and am in my 12th year at AristoMedia.
Q: What is one interesting fact about you?
Growing up I played the drums and thought one day I’d pursue a career as a performer. In case you are wondering, no – I don’t play anymore.
Q: What is your favorite eatery?
I’m not a real “foodie,” but my go-to’s during the week are Taco Mamacita, Midtown Cafe and The Tavern. On the weekends, I like Puffy Muffin or Bricktops. #RIP former favorite spots – Sub Stop, Boscos, Sunset Grill and Sam’s Bar & Grill.
Q: What is your favorite music venue?
City Winery
Q: If you could only pick one, what would be your all-time favorite song?
Right now, I’d have to say it’s “My Wish” by Rascal Flatts – My father, Jeff Walker, chose this song for our father-daughter dance at my wedding. The song went on to have more life and meaning following my dad’s passing in Aug. 2015.
Q: What are some of your hobbies?
Shopping, cooking, photography and camping.
Q: What is your favorite thing to do in Nashville on the weekend?
Spending time with my family, of course, but we enjoy going to the flea market or farmers’ markets around the area. We also enjoy watching the Titans play football.
Q: What is something interesting that is on your bucket list?
I grew up watching game shows on television with my grandmother, so it’s always been something I’ve wanted to have an opportunity to do. My bucket list games are “Wheel of Fortune” or “Price Is Right!”
Q: What is one type of food that you could not live without?
Mexican – I love avocados/guacamole!
Q: What actor would you want to play you in the movie of your life? Why?
If still living, definitely Lucille Ball. However, seeing that is impossible, I would maybe say Jennifer Lawrence or Anna Faris (both are funny, smart and beautiful!).
Q: If you could go anywhere in the world right now, where would you go?
My dad always said he wanted to do an Alaskan cruise. Seeing he wasn’t able to fulfill that dream, I hope to one day go and experience it for him.
Q: What TV or movie series are you obsessed with right now?
“Walking Dead,” “Cutthroat Kitchen,” “Shark Tank,” and “Downton Abbey” once the season returns!
Q: What did you ‘want to be when you grew up’ as a kid?
A marine biologist or a performer.
Q: If time or money weren’t an issue, what would you be doing right now?
I’d be at Disney World— the happiest place on earth!
Q: If you could spend the day with any person (living or deceased), who would it be?
Definitely my dad – spending one more day and one more sunset in Marco Island. If not him, I’d love to spend a day with Lucille Ball in her working habitat so I could learn from her.
Q: What is your life goal?
To work hard and to make a difference.
Q: What is your favorite joke?
Favorite thing in your office:
My paintings— they were my husband’s grandmother’s and hung in her home for many years. The colors are still so vibrant, just like her personality was.
Take a photo of your favorite coffee mug and explain:
The owl symbolizes intuition and wisdom and I find them to be very commanding, very important qualities to have when working in business. Oddly enough, I’ve had owls make a presence in my life following major life changes and I found the sightings to be comforting. I have a set of my own mugs that I use in the mornings for coffee and in the evenings for tea.
