A native of Detroit, Mich., Lauren Barbieri serves as Online Awareness Coordinator for AristoMedia‘s media and digital marketing department, AristoWorks. Barbieri earned her degree in Marketing from Western Michigan University in 2011. Before joining AristoMedia, she interned at Skyville Records.
Q. Where is your hometown? And why did you decide to come to Nashville?
A. I grew up in Farmington Hills, Michigan and moved here right after I graduated from Western Michigan University. I, like, many others here, wanted to get into the music business. I wasn’t a big country music person at the time, so moving to Nashville never even crossed my mind. My mom had an old friend who was president of a label here, so I came down over my senior year Spring Break and talked with him and others at the label. A few weeks later they emailed me asking if I wanted to intern over the summer… and almost 3 years later, here I am
Q. What is one interesting fact about you?
A. I was a horseback rider for about 10 years. I miss it so much!
Q. What is your favorite Nashville eatery?
A. Tie between The Pharmacy [best burgers ever] and McDougals [best chicken tenders ever]
Q. What is your favorite music venue? (Anywhere)
A. The Intersection in Grand Rapids, Michigan…I did my very first internship there!
Q. If you could only pick one, what would be your all-time favorite song?
A. “Stand By Me” by Ben E. King
Q. What are some of your hobbies?
A. I love good music, stand up comedy, playing kickball, Trivia, watching horror movies, Reddit, enjoying a delicious craft beer, going to live shows, and of course any and all social media.
Q. What is your favorite thing to do in Nashville on the weekend?
A. Friday happy hour with my friends on Red Door East’s patio
Q. What do you consider your greatest achievement?
A. Building a life for myself in Nashville after moving here without a job or knowing anyone. I’ve been here for almost 3 years and have made so many great friends and have a job I love. Couldn’t ask for anything more!
Q. What is one type of food that you could not live without?
A. Pizza (with ranch!)
Q. What actor/actress would you want to play you in the movie of your life? Why?
A. Zooey Deschanel. I just love her style and overall quirkiness.
Q. If you could go anywhere in the world right now, where would you go?
A. I’d love to visit Italy! Or anywhere with a beach
Q. How would your friends describe you?
A. I’ve gotten “delightfully awkward”, genuine, just plain awesome…
Q. What TV or movie series are you obsessed with right now?
A. Even though the series is officially over, I’m still am/always will be obsessed with How I Met Your Mother.
Q. What did you ‘want to be when you grew up’ as a kid?
A. A “famous” horseback rider! I also wanted to own a barn haha
Q. Music That Has Shaped Your Life (Top 5):
The Click Five “Greetings From The Imrie House”– This is was the band that made me want to work in the music business when I was in high school. I was obsessed. I was on their street team, owned 3 copies of this cd, and have seen the band in 3 different states. I also was once in their top 8 on Myspace (totally cool, right?)
Mayday Parade “A Lesson In Romantics”– This band was one of my favorites in college. They were my go-to. No reason other than overall awesomeness.
Backstreet Boys, all the albums— I grew up in the 90’s, Backstreet Boys will always have a special place in my heart.
Hanson “Middle Of Nowhere” –They were my first concert, first cassette I ever owned, and my first band shirt. A gal can’t forget them.
Panic! At The Disco “A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out”– Another band that drove me to want to get into the music business. High school Lauren was all about them!

A. Dave Matthews Band
Q. If you could spend the day with any person (living or deceased), who would it be?
A. The comedian Demetri Martin. I have the biggest crush on him, he’s so dang smart and funny. Hanging out with him for a day and hearing his observations on things would be so entertaining.
Q. What is your life goal?
A. Just overall continued happiness
Q. What is your favorite joke?
A. Why was the cucumber blushing? Because it saw Ranch Dressing (get it?!)
