Q: Where is your hometown? And why did you decide to come to Nashville?
I was born and raised in Columbia, MO— also known as the home of the Mizzou Tigers. I came to Nashville in 2010 to attend Belmont University for Music Business / Entertainment Industry Studies. I fell in love with this city and haven’t left since!
Q: What is one interesting fact about you?
I’ve always been pretty proud of the fact that I have the same birthday as Harry Potter.
Q: What is your favorite Nashville eatery?
There are far too many to choose just one, but most recently, I haven’t been able to get enough of The Flipside and Two Ten Jack.
Q: What is your favorite music venue? (Anywhere)
I have always had a great experience at The Ryman Auditorium.
Q: If you could only pick one, what would be your all-time favorite song?
That is a near impossible question, but I would say one of my all-time favorite songs is “More Than Anyone” by Gavin DeGraw. I’ve had the chance to see him perform it live flawlessly three times and I just about fall on the floor in tears every time. In a perfect world, I would have Gavin perform it live at my future wedding.
Q: What are some of your hobbies?
I am a major foodie, so I love going out and trying new restaurants. I also love to travel, throw dinner parties for friends, and go to concerts when I have the chance.
Q: What is your favorite thing to do in Nashville on the weekend?
No weekend in Nashville would be complete without brunch.
Q: If you could have any super power, what would it be?
If I could have any super power, I would choose invisibility so I could sneak into any concert my heart desired.
Q: What do you consider your greatest achievement?
I would consider one of my greatest achievements to be gaining the courage to move to Nashville to work towards my dream of being in the music industry. It was difficult to move somewhere where I didn’t know anyone and was away from family and friends, but it has proved to be extremely rewarding so far!
Q: What is something interesting that is on your bucket list?
I’ve been dying to go to Italy so I can finally have my Lizzie McGuire moment and impersonate an Italian pop star.
Q: What is one type of food that you could not live without?
The number of avocados I go through per week is sort of ridiculous. They go well with just about anything.
Q: What actor would you want to play you in the movie of your life? Why?
I think Rachel Bilson would be a good choice because we have similar personalities (also, shoutout to “The O.C.,” which is one of my favorite shows of all time). If Emma Watson and I looked more alike, I might also choose her— she is absolutely flawless.
Q: If you could go anywhere in the world right now, where would you go?
I would love to go back to Napa Valley in California and spend the whole day wine tasting.
Q: How would your friends describe you?
I think my friends would say I have a good sense of humor and can be very passionate about certain things.
Q: What TV or movie series are you obsessed with right now?
Even though I’ve watched it multiple times, I’m currently reliving the “Gilmore Girls” series, while simultaneously listening to the “Gilmore Guys” podcast as I go. Just living and breathing all things Gilmore these days.
Q: What did you ‘want to be when you grew up’ as a kid?
For a long time, I really wanted to become the editor of Seventeen Magazine.
Q: If time or money weren’t an issue, what would you be doing right now?
I haven’t gotten to travel out of the country much yet, so I would travel to all of the cities I’ve been dying to go to. Also, Disney World just because.
Q: What are the top five albums that have shaped your life?
Continuum – John Mayer: This album never gets old. It came out almost ten years ago and I still consistently listen to it. Also, who doesn’t love John Mayer?!
We Sing. We Dance. We Steal Things – Jason Mraz: Jason Mraz is one of the most unique artists I’ve ever listened to and is an amazing live performer. I’ve been a consistent fan of his longer than any other artist I listen to, and this particular album really stood out to me as one of his best.
A Little Bit Longer – Jonas Brothers: Not only do I have a weakness for boy bands of all kinds, but this particular group/album is, surprisingly, what inspired me to want to get into the music business.
Stories To Tell – Dave Barnes: This particular artist/album is what got me into the whole Nashville singer/songwriter genre, leading me to listen to other similar artists such as Ben Rector, Steve Moakler, Matt Wertz, etc.
The Blessed Unrest – Sara Bareilles: This is just a beautiful album from start to finish and Sara Bareilles’ voice is perfection.
Q: A television show you can’t miss, but hate to admit you watch:
“Keeping Up With The Kardashians” is definitely my guilty pleasure. Kourtney is my spirit animal and interior design inspiration.
Q: If you could spend the day with any person (living or deceased), who would it be?
I would love to spend the day with Amy Poehler because she is the ultimate female role model and it would be a guaranteed good time.
Q: What is your favorite joke?
Why does Snoop Dogg carry an umbrella?
Fo drizzle.
Daily necessities in your desk drawer, pocket, or purse:
I can’t get through my day without my water bottle, headphones, EOS lip balm and hand sanitizer.
Favorite thing in your office:
I have a weakness for pretty office supplies, so I really love my Kate Spade pencil cup and my Rifle Paper Company desk calendar. My cute tape dispenser and stapler are also a plus.
Take a photo of your favorite coffee mug and explain:
I don’t drink coffee too often, but when I do, I have to use my favorite “S” mug. Mainly just because it’s pretty.
