(Nashville, TN – May 7, 2024) Canadian country sensation and three-time JUNO award winner Brett Kissel has unveiled his latest single, “Let Your Horses Run.” Offering a classic country-rock anthem, the track is now available for download across all streaming platforms here.
“Let Your Horses Run” is an upbeat, influential song about the force of following your dreams. Lyrics, including “bust down the gate” and “you can’t tie an anchor to a freight train, ” illustrate the importance of fighting for the chance to pursue goals and achieve personal success.
Written by Kissel and Jesse Frasure and produced by Frasure, Seth Mosley, and Michael “X” O’Connor, “Let Your Horses Run” is the first single Kissel has released for 2024. The track follows his four-part album project from 2023, “The Compass Project,” which earned him a JUNO award nomination for “Best Country Album of the Year” for the first of the four, South Album.
Kissel comments on the track’s release, saying, “Horses is a powerful song. It’s really an advice song for anyone ready to take on the next big leap in their life, explaining that you can be a force of nature if you want to be, and you can be unstoppable if you put your mind to something that inspires. To be perfectly honest, I wrote it with my kids in mind. Knowing one day they’ll be teenagers ready to chase their dreams, and these are the words and thoughts I would share with them… ‘Let your horses run.’”
Frasure was an important component of writing and producing the track. Kissel says, “I wrote this song with Jesse Frasure, one of Nashville’s biggest and best hit makers. I love creating with him because I can be fully immersed in the creative experience, and I can be honest and transparent. You can’t write a song about life, advice, encouragement, strength, and courage if you’re not with someone you trust. It took only a few hours to write this one. Everything lined up perfectly.”
