Signs record deal with Nashville-based label, Evergreen Records
(Nashville, Tenn. – Aug. 2, 2010) Newcomer Country music singer DJ Miller has signed with Nashville-based Evergreen Records and released his debut single to Country radio, titled “A Little Naughty Is Nice.”
Shipped to radio in July, “A Little Naughty Is Nice” is a guitar-driven, up-tempo track written by hit songwriters Don Goodman, Charlie Black and Robert Resnik. Miller received the song only hours before leaving his hometown of Idaville, Indiana, for a Nashville recording session and ended up recording the song during that same visit.
“‘A Little Naughty Is Nice” is one of those songs that basically gives the woman a license to go out and get a little crazy sometimes,” Miller laughs. “It was sent to me about three hours before I left for a recording session in Nashville. We ended up recording it, and it turned out great. It’s a fun song for all the girls out there, so I have a feeling the guys will probably appreciate it, too.”
Veteran Nashville producer, publisher and Evergreen Records executive Johnny Morris discovered Miller when he saw the 20-year-old singer perform at a downtown Nashville venue in 2009. Impressed by Miller’s strong voice and stage show, Morris and Evergreen Records co-founder Don Bedell signed the young singer to their label the next day.
“DJ is one of the most talented young artists I’ve seen in years,” said Morris. “His ability to connect with an audience is impressive, especially for someone that young, and his vocals really shine on these new songs we’re recording. DJ has a bright future in this business.”
Miller is known for his energetic and enthusiastic live performances, which often include trips into the audience to sing, dance and interact with the crowd. He is currently splitting time between his touring schedule and various writing and recording sessions in Nashville. His debut album is scheduled for release this year.
