Band Members and Writers Troy Johnson, Brett Boyett, and Scott Lindsey Draw on Personal Experiences in Moving New Song
(Nashville, Tenn.- March 19, 2021) – Newly formed country rock-infused band, Nashvillains, consisting of hit singer-songwriters Troy Johnson, Brett Boyett, and Scott Lindsey, has released a new song, titled “Tumbling Down.” Offering a taste of what is to come from the band’s forthcoming album, due out later this year, the new original song is now available and can be heard on streaming platforms worldwide, HERE.
Co-written by Johnson, Boyett, and Lindsey and produced by Boyett, “Tumbling Down” is the second song they wrote as a band, but their first song to be released. A notable song to each of them, “Tumbling Down,” was written when members of the band faced their own personal hardships, including one member’s battle against cancer. The new track digs into the internal struggles and the loneliness and hopelessness we face in life and the challenge to overcome those feelings.
“We wanted to write something that painted a picture of the chaos in the world and the hardships that we all endure. This song has been an autobiographical journey for many of us in the band,” commented Nashvillains band member and “Tumbling Down” co-writer Brett Boyett.
Signed to Fate Entertainment, Nashvillains’ inception stemmed from the industry veterans’ and musicians’ shared love of country music and rock and roll. Each member has been successful in their own right before coming together for this unique project. Collectively, they have written and produced music for feature films, television shows, and major artists like The Chicks, Keith Urban, Cassadee Pope, James Taylor, Lauren Alaina, among many more.
Band members Brett Boyett and Scott Lindsey first met in a writing session where they shared a commonality on a creative vision; that the country music spectrum was in dire need of a rock meets outlaw country presence that flirts with sonic experimentation. Having been familiar with Troy Johnson through the songwriting community, Boyett pinned Troy Johnson and his gritty vocals as a potential third member when he learned that Lindsey shared his publishing company with the sought-after writer; the rest was history.
The newly formed group looks to create a fresh musical landscape by blurring lines between genres, bending the rules of convention, and expanding country music. The sonic landscape of the Nashvillains is accomplished through using traditional instrumentation with creative modern programming while emphasizing the dramatic and untold stories that are rarely touched upon by today’s popular country music.
