Operation Troop Aid Needs YOUR Vote in the “Pepsi Refresh Project”

Vote for OTA’s “Troop-A-Palooza” proposal to send care packages to U.S. troops – Voting ends May 31

(Nashville, TN – May 12, 2010) Nonprofit military organization Operation Troop Aid needs your vote to win $250,000 in the Pepsi Refresh Project to send care packages to U.S. troops stationed overseas.

The Operation Troop Aid “Troop-A-Palooza” proposal aims to raise money through the production of benefit concerts. These concerts generate the majority of funding needed for the deployment of OTA’s care packages to the troops. “This is a great opportunity to help our troops, and all it takes is one minute a day. That minute could turn into a lifetime of support for our troops,” says OTA Executive Director Mark Woods. “These men and women give their lives everyday, so please take a minute everyday to vote for them!”

The Pepsi Refresh Challenge is an online competition that awards funding to “individuals, non-profits and pro-social businesses that can make a positive impact in the community.” Campaigns can be submitted monthly in one of four grant categories. The OTA “Troop-A-Palooza” campaign is competing for a $250,000 grant. The top two vote-getters in this category will receive funding for their idea from Pepsi. Voting ends May 31.
