Kicks Off Wednesday, March 28th
First Show Features “Glee” Star/Singer-Songwriter Noah Guthrie
and UK-based Act Liv Austen
(Nashville, Tenn. – March 6, 2018) – On the heels of the successful Nashville Meets London summer music festival (slated for July 28-29 in 2018), organizers are excited to announce a new monthly residency to London’s music fans:
Nashville Meets London Presents will take place the last Wednesday of every month, beginning March 28, at the PizzaExpress Live at 99 High Holborn in London. One of the city’s newest live music venues, PizzaExpress Live is an intimate space for the best in live entertainment featuring a state of the art sound system, stage, and setting. Each acoustic show will feature two rising country music artists, one from the UK and one from the U.S.
Glee star Noah Guthrie is best known for playing the pivotal character of Roderick Meeks on the hit U.S. show. Already a YouTube sensation when he was cast on “Glee,” Guthrie’s latest album, The Valley, has established the young South Carolina native as a rising Americana/Country artist to watch.
Norwegian-born singer-songwriter Liv Austen possesses one of the hottest new voices on the ever-expanding British country music scene. Her star has been rising since she unveiled her Workin’ Man’s Dream EP in 2014, with what turned out to be perfect timing, in tandem with the extraordinary new wave of interest in all things Nashville. Austen is currently working on her first album in the wake of her January 2017 signing to NUA Entertainment.
Additional confirmed dates for the Nashville Meets London Presents residency at Pizza Express Live (Holborn) include: April 25, May 30 and June 27. Doors are at 6:30 pm and the show begins at 8:30 pm with a £15.00 cover each evening. Only a limited number of tickets are available and can be purchased here. About Noah Guthrie:
Noah Guthrie’s journey into music began at age 12 when he wrote his first song. He first rose to fame covering chart-topping hits on YouTube. He received national attention with his blues-filled version of LMFAO’s “Sexy and I Know It,” which to date has received over 26 million views, with his YouTube channel, only1noah, racking up over 79 million total views. Guthrie’s growing presence on YouTube eventually led to his being cast as Roderick Meeks, a pivotal character on FOX’s hit TV show “Glee,” on its sixth and final season. After the show ended, Guthrie dove headfirst back into songwriting and touring. His second original album, The Valley, solidifies Guthrie as one of the freshest new voices in Americana/Country music. He is often compared to artists, such as Ray Lamontagne and Jason Isbell. The Valley is getting major play on streaming services, such as Spotify, Pandora and Apple Music. Noah currently has over 600,000 monthly listeners on Spotify alone. The South Carolina native has opened concerts for Ed Sheeran, Sister Hazel, Neon Trees, Ben Rector, Corey Smith, Matisyahu, Matt Nathanson, and Selena Gomez, and has performed on ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars” as well as NBC’s “Today Show” and “The Tonight Show.” Guthrie and his band were recently featured performers on Rock Boat XVIII, the biggest music festival at sea, along with Sister Hazel, Barenaked Ladies, needtobreathe, Drew Holcomb and others. He will appear on the upcoming season of “America’s Got Talent” after being invited directly onto the show without an audition. For more information on Noah Guthrie, visit noahguthrie.com.
About Liv Austen:
Norwegian-born singer-songwriter Liv Austen arrived in the UK in 2010 to study acting, before finding her voice to be one of the hottest properties on the ever-expanding British country music scene. While she’s become a key part of that explosion, she has the pop sensibility to cross over to the widest possible audience. The buzz about her has got louder since the release of her EP Workin’ Man’s Dream in 2014 – from the brilliantly catchy, feel-good singles ‘Don’t Regret A Single One’ and ‘The Next Time’, to the tear-stained ‘Over,’ written especially for Austen by her good friend Ben Earle of UK country figureheads The Shires. Another example of her stunning talent is ‘Injured Party,’ a typically intelligent piece of 21st-century pop on the multi-artist Round Two EP, from the ever-creative Revolution collective. The best news of all is that there’s so much more where that all came from, as Austen continues work on that first album in the wake of her January 2017 signing to NUA Entertainment. By March, one track from it was receiving a prestigious preview as part of a BBC Radio 2 show on the eve of the Country 2 Country Festival, and this year that same festival will see her performing on all three days representing the best the UK has to offer in contemporary country music.
