(Nashville, Tenn. – April. 6, 2016) Australian songwriter and Nashville resident Phil Barton (“A Woman Like You”, “I Can’t Stop Loving You”, “Yeah Yeah Yeah”) received the Australasia Performing Rights Association’s Overseas Achievement Award at the 2016 APRA Music Awards in Sydney on April 5. Barton is signed to Liz Rose Publishing.
APRA US representative Mark Moffatt states, “The Overseas Achievement Award was created to acknowledge significant achievements made by the organizations members based overseas and I’m so thrilled to see Phil get the recognition he deserves in his home country.”
The award is open to all musical genres in all territories, the five finalists from around the world included Josef Salvat, Kylie Sackley, Phil Barton, Sam Dixon and Vassy.
