(Nashville, Tenn. – September 9, 2013) Country artist Robby Armstrong has released his new single, “Birthday Happy,” to country radio.
The track is a fun-spirited tune about the celebratory aspect of turning another year older. With a country swing and a catchy chorus, the single is all about getting “Birthday Happy” and how you should be “shinin’ like gold” on your birthday.
Co-written by Armstrong and Darrell Brown, “Birthday Happy” is the second song to be released from Armstrong’s forthcoming 2013 full-length album, which is additionally produced by Brown (LeAnn Rimes, Ty Herndon, Radney Foster).
“If one corner of my smile was Nashville and the other corner of my smile was Bakersfield – then that would be exactly how big of a smile I get when I listen to the joy of Robby rocking out to our song ‘Birthday Happy!!!!’” said Darrell Brown.
“‘Birthday Happy’ is the new birthday party song that everyone one can celebrate too,” Robby Armstrong laughingly exclaimed. “So – ‘Birthday Happy!!!’”

The California native started playing in a band in his early teens. He continues to split his time between Nashville and Huntington Beach, California where he writes, plays, and produces his music. With a unique Rock & Roll twist on his Country sound, Armstrong weaves elements of Alternative Country, with its warm melodies and heartfelt lyrics, and an exciting playing style into a sound that is uniquely his own.
Armstrong has three songs, including “Birthday Happy” and his last single “Rodeo,” in the upcoming October release of the major motion picture, Gambit (featuring Cameron Diaz, Colin Firth), wherein he and his band make a cameo appearance. The songs are also on the official soundtrack. Additionally, “Rodeo” is featured in The Sims video game and has been heard at Angels’ stadium as the Los Angeles Angels’ rally song.
In July, Armstrong produced his fist musical score for the children’s eBook, Samuel T. Moore of Corte Magore (Skies America Publishing, 2013), which is now available on iTunes. The book teaches children about courage and tenacity, to stand up and fight for what they believe in.
