California native Robby Armstrong is coming off his sophmore single, “Birthday Happy.” The music video, shot by Chris Hicky, aired on Zuus Country, Heartland, CMT.com, and more. The single release came right before the launch of his self-titled album on Sept. 24, which is available for purchase on iTunes and other major digital retailers.
Co-produced by Armstrong and Darrell Brown (LeAnn Rimes, Ty Herndon, Radney Foster), the album features 13 tracks, 12 of which were either written or co-written by Armstrong. Three songs on the record, “Rodeo,” “Birthday Happy,” and “Smokin’ and Drinkin’,” are also featured on the soundtrack and in the major motion picture, Gambit (featuring Cameron Diaz, Colin Firth), wherein he and his band make a cameo appearance. Additionally, “Rodeo” is in The Sims video game and has been heard at Angels’ stadium as the Los Angeles Angels’ rally song.
In July 2013, Armstrong produced his fist musical score for the children’s eBook, Samuel T. Moore of Corte Magore (Skies America Publishing, 2013), which is now available on iTunes. The book teaches children about courage and tenacity, to stand up and fight for what they believe in.
