Sarah Darling To Tease New Music at Exclusive Show at The Basement East with Maggie Baugh and Colin Elmore on August 25 – Tickets Available Here
(Nashville, Tenn.– Aug. 2, 2021) Sarah Darling is closing her Campfire Sessions with the release of a Mini–EP Dreams, now available worldwide (here). Dreams features Darling’s airy, melodious voice on three cover tracks: Fleetwood Mac’s “Dreams,” “Sweet Surrender” by Sarah McLachlan, and “One of Us,” originally performed by Joan Osborne and written by Eric Bazilian.
This last Campfire Sessions release is particularly special to Darling because each song has had a significant impact on her life. She elaborates, “The Campfire Sessions is a series of cover songs that have influenced me over the years, and these three songs, in particular, helped shape me as an artist. Stevie Nicks, Joan Osborne, and Sarah McLachlan are female artists that showed up in a very influential time in my life. It was music that healed me and got me through my first heartbreak. There’s something special about reimagining these songs in my own way.”
Darling’s Campfire Sessions first debuted in October 2019 with the track “Leave the Pieces.” Since then, Darling has released new Campfire Sessions periodically and accumulated over 2 million streams collectively on Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music. When the world unexpectedly shut down in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Campfire Sessions remained a great way for Darling to stay connected with her fan base. Initially focusing on covering country classics, she has expanded her sessions to dive into a more diverse list of genres. For instance, in 2020, she released a stripped-back version of Katy Perry’s pop classic “California Gurls.” After a long run of highlighting musical influences through her sessions, Darling has decided to close this chapter of Campfire Sessions and focus on releasing the original music that she has been developing.
When speaking about the final chapter of Campfire Sessions, Darling states, “As I move forward to release brand new music that I’ve written, I wanted to close this amazing chapter of Campfire by releasing three final songs. I’m so excited for everyone to hear what I’ve been up to!”
Along with the release, Darling is preparing to give her fans a first look into her new unreleased music at a full band exclusive show she is headlining at The Basement East in Nashville, TN on Aug. 25. She has spent the last year tirelessly working on new music in Nashville’s own Departure Room with established Nashville-based creatives, Cameron Jaymes and Emily Shackelton.
