Quarantine Music Video Premieres on Guitar Girl Magazine (HERE) , Featured as American Songwriter Daily Discovery (HERE)
(Nashville, Tenn. – May 1, 2020) Shannon LaBrie has released a new single, “Firewalker;” a powerful track about survival, co-written by LaBrie, Tia Sillers, and Joe Robinson. The new song, produced by multi-Grammy Award-winners, Brent Maher and Charles Yingling, is now available on all digital retailers and can be found HERE. “Firewalker” along with its quarantine versioned music video premiered with Guitar Girl Magazine (HERE) and was chosen as a Daily Discovery for American Songwriter (HERE).
LaBrie spoke about the meaning of the song, saying “Firewalker is about that moment when you’ve just survived something and you look back over your shoulder at the struggle and realize you are a survivor and you will never be the same. Because of the struggle—not because you avoided it—you’ve become stronger, more powerful. I was in the fire, so to speak when I met Tia Sillers and learned that she was there, too. We were in the thick of it, but we weren’t broken. Now I realize we were being reborn into unbreakable Firewalkers. It was an amazing experience to sit in a room with Tia and Joe Robinson and talk about the strength we found in surviving some of the worst events in our lives.”
She continues, “Having survived the tornado that just ripped through my Nashville, neighborhood, Joe’s family having survived the fires in Australia, and with all the fears surrounding Covid-19, I hope this song can be a reminder that we can be strong, we can refuse to break, and we can survive. This song has been a friend to me. I needed this song, and I’m really excited to have it as my first single off this project.”
While plans to create a full music video have been put on hold during the current state of the world, Shannon and co-writer Joe Robinson recorded separately from their homes to create a quarantined version of the music video. Click below to watch the full video.
