(Nashville, Tenn. – Aug. 27, 2013) Sounds Australia has announced the 2013 artist events and performances to be held during this year’s annual Americana Music Festival and Conference, scheduled for Sept. 18-22 in downtown Nashville, Tenn. Each year, the lineup features artists from various parts of the continent that we often refer to as “The Land Down Under.”
Starting Tuesday, September 17 through Wednesday, September 25, twenty-one artists will present their own unique brand of Americana to Nashville. Event highlights include a special showcase night at the Bluebird Café, a celebration with the Sister Cities of Nashville organization, a Music City Roots “Down Under Special” and the third annual THE AUSSIE BBQ showcase. The events are produced by Sounds Australia, a government-supported music industry organization dedicated to spreading the music of Australia abroad.
“It’s been 10 years since I last visited Nashville while on a tour of great music cities of the US, so I’m incredibly excited to be returning for Americana. This year sees an increased delegation of over 30 Australian musicians and industry, from Paul Kelly to Tamworth Road to Discovery winners Melody Pool and Gena Rose Bruce, it’s set to be the biggest and best convergence of Australian talent that Nashville has ever seen.” says Glenn Dickie, Export Music Producer for Sounds Australia.
