(Nashville, Tenn. – March 19, 2012) Judy Seale, President of Judy Seale International and Stars For Stripes, was honored with the Tennessee Marine 2012 Leadership Award at the Operation Yellow Ribbon event at Lipscomb University’s Allen Arena in Nashville on March 6, 2012. Hosted by Charlie Daniels, the annual event honors the United States military and their families.
One reason for the creation of the Tennessee Marine Leadership Award is to bring attention to the mission of the Marines in this area. Prior recipients include Jeff Fisher, Charles Davis, Andrea Conte (while she was first lady of the state), Charlie Daniels, and the faculty, staff and students of Lipscomb University.
“Rarely am I speechless, but receiving this honor was a very emotional moment in my life,” Seale said. “This is equivalent to a Grammy or an Oscar for me in my career. To be presented this award by my heroes — the U.S. Marines — and experience the moment with Charlie Daniels, Gary Sinise and Darryl Worley was overwhelming. There are so many others who share my passion and support of the military who should be receiving this recognition as well.”
Sinise, who has been on many tours overseas entertaining the troops, performed most recently in Kuwait on January 28, 2012, on his first Stars for Stripes tour.
“I was thrilled when Judy approached me about doing a quick trip to Kuwait for a LT Dan Band concert this past January,” Sinise said. “Judy and I met on the very first entertainment tour to Iraq back in June of 2003 and as this was going to be one of the last shows for troops departing Iraq, I could not pass it up. Judy has been tireless with her support of our troops over the years, and I support and applaud her efforts. It was a fantastic show and a privilege to be able to give our troops in Kuwait a great time. Thank you, Judy, and Stars for Stripes.”
The current Stars for Stripes tour for the troops in Germany began March 11th with LoCash Cowboys. Darryl Worley will perform for troops in Southwest Asia at the end of April.
