To Be Held August 22-27
(Nashville, TN – August 16, 2010) The Nashville-based Women’s Music Business Association (WMBA) is hosting their inaugural WMBA week on August 22 –27.
Planned by WMBA officers and the organization’s PR Task Force, a culmination of events are scheduled, including activities for networking, community service, education and more.
“We came up with the idea of WMBA Week as an exciting way for our 110 members to celebrate WMBA’S new non-profit status. What better way to mark such a historical time in our organization than to celebrate all week long and share some of those special days with our industry friends on Music Row. We hope to better establish WMBA within the music business community, entice new members and get the message out about this multi-dynamic organization to promote future opportunities, sponsorships and events,” said WMBA Vice President Penny Dionne.
Several events planned are open to the Nashville music community in which both men and women are encouraged to attend.
Those events are:
Sunday, August 22 (4:30 a.m. – 7 a.m.) – WMBA Serves Breakfast at the Nashville Rescue Mission. Contact Stephanie Self-Mundy for more details or if you wish to participate. Email: Stephanie_Mundy@fbmm.com.
Wednesday, August 25 (11 a.m. – 1 p.m.) – Chillin’ with WMBA – Enjoy complimentary fresh fruit Italian Ice from Izzie’s Ice at Owen Bradley Park.
Thursday, August 26 (5 p.m. – 7 p.m.) – WMBA Happy Hour at Cabana
Friday, August 27 (Noon – 1 p.m. or 1 p.m. – 2 p.m.) – “I’m So Music Row” Big Lunch Bunch at the Red Roster on Demonbreun. Portion of sales will be donated to the WMBA.
